Here are the rankings for the each position after 3 weeks. I will try to update the rankings after each real life week, if I remember.
Let's start off with the quarterbacks. They are important, the touch the ball on pretty much every offensive play, so kind of a big deal.
Rank One Quarterback : S. Ramza, got to give it to this hyper efficient passer. He currently has a 73% completion rate while throwing for 583 yards. The most impressive part, he has seven touchdowns and only one interception so far. The question though, can he keep it up? Throwing that many touchdowns to interceptions is hard to maintain throughout a full season, as is the yardage to completion ratio.
Rank Two Quarterback : R. Covington III, If not for Ramza's super efficient numbers I would have given it to Covington. His numbers through three games are very very good. 60 percent completion rate on 100 attempts is very good. Has thrown for 726 yards (second most) with seven touchdowns and four interceptions. Very good numbers and seems fairly sustainable as nothing seems to be just based on having a couple good games.
Rank Three Quarterback : M. Boss Jr., Yea this pick is a little controversial. Also, he throws the ball to me, so easy to see why I like this guy so much. He has a great arm, just had a few unlucky picks to mar his stats. Two of the interceptions should not have happened, and had they not he should have at least one more touchdown, maybe two. On to the stats, 654 yards on 107 attempts for a completion ratio of 52.3 percent with four touchdowns and four interceptions. Great player on a great team just had some bad luck so far. He is primed to move up going forwards.
Next up, Running Backs. This is on is a little harder with so many great backs out there this season. I also did not include any receiving stats in here, as I wanted to highlight the running portion of their name. I will include a bonus rank for the best receiving back.
Rank One Running Back : Tie(I told you this was hard) B. Mills and C. Rogers. Both rookies. Both super high average yards per carry. Super impressive what these two rookies are out there doing from day one. First up B. Mills, this dude is fast. He busted off an 88 yard touchdown lifting his average yards per carry to 7.8 yards. Crazy high. He has 36 attempts for 282 yards on the season as the second back to Theeks(another amazing runner). He only has one touchdown so far, but splitting carries, you never know which one is going to get the carry on any given play. C. Rogers, the current rushing leader, is beasting out so far. 56 attempts for 343 yards averaging a whopping 6.1 yards a carry with two touchdowns. He also shares the backfield with Skrills, so another fantastic running duo killing it out there.
Rank Two Running Back : C. Theeks. Maybe a little biased here. But this dude can flat out run. He runs over dudes, carries dudes, straight destroys guys. He is a boulder. He as 57 attempts for 259 yards for an average of 4.5 yards a carry. The kicker, tied for the most touchdowns in the league (rushing) with three. This was a hard choice because their are so many good running backs. He just holds a special place in my heart.
Rank Three Running Back : Q. Skrills, This was a tough decision between Skrills and Jeffrey, I gave it to Skrills as a true backfield by committee approach and he still produces great RB1 numbers. Where as Jeffrey is the main stud and barely out produces Skrills. Skrills has 57 attempts for 302 yards averaging 5.3 a carry and one touchdown. But he is doing this sharing the backfield with C. Rogers. That is a hard thing to do, I feel bad for opposing defenses when they line up across from either the Luchadores or the Seawolves.
Rank Four Running Back : 3. Jeffrey, While this dude is the lone stud in the backfield, he has put up great numbers so far. 67 attempts in three games is a crazy workload. He produced 316 yards on those carries averaging 4.7 yards a carry and producing two touchdowns in the process. He does have a rookie running back giving him a rest here and there, but overall he has the most carries of any back so far. He has an average of 22 carries a game, not including any receiving plays he might be a part of.
Bonus Rank for Best Receiving Back : R. Raccoon (FullBack), Dude is a receiving machine. 20 catches for 245 yards in three games coming out of the backfield. He is the number two receiver by yards for the entire league, as a fullback. Averaging 12.2 yards a catch with a long of 32 yards, again as a fullback. Insane!
Wide Receivers Ranking, Again with so many great receivers out there, it's hard to pick just a few to highlight, but I will do my best.
Rank One Wide Receiver : J. Campbell, this guy is killing it so far. He has the highest average yards per catch at 20! He also leads the league in total yards receiving at 260! He has a long of 55 yards and four touchdowns in only three games. He is a threat to take it to the house every single play. Does not matter where he lines up or who against. Not sure he can sustain these numbers, but if he can, he might be going for one of the best seasons in the DSFL by a receiver ever!
Rank Two Wide Receiver : D. Howlett, I get the pleasure of watching this guy in practice everyday. He is a technician. I try to learn everything I can from watching and listening. He is fast, he can run every route in the book, he can create space at will it seems. On to the numbers, 15 receptions for 232 yards and one touchdown for an average of 15.5 yards a catch. He also has an amazing second receiver in Vequain to compete with him for catches and touchdowns. (another amazing receiver to watch and learn from). One of the best two receiver combos in the league.
Rank Three Wide Receiver : D. Matthews, (This is where it gets really difficult to pick) This guy can ball. He has 17 catches for 212 yards averaging 12.5 yards a catch with four touchdowns! He is tied for the most touchdowns by a receiver with our number ranked wideout. He is a touchdown machine and clear cut number one option for the SeaWolves. Which made it hard to decide if he should be ranked this high with so little competition for catches. But being the number one threat on a team and still balling out is special, so in the end, he got the nod for third best.
Rank Four Wide Receiver : F Vequain, Another monster receiver battling with a top tier talent for catches and touchdowns. He produces having to line up across from Howlett. He has 14 receptions for 200 yards and a 14.3 yard average. But the kicker is he has 3 touchdowns in three games fighting all these other mouths for them. Pretty impressive considering the offensive talent this team has. At any given time he can take over the game and make a big play.
Honorable Mention : R. Raccoon, I know he isn't a wide receiver, but this man can catch the ball like nobody else out of the backfield. I would have had him number two or three if he was listed as a receiver. But due to technicality he is not a wide receiver, so he gets a mention for balling out like crazy.
Next up, we have Tight Ends. A little harder to judge them on offensive production because they asked to block so much, but here goes.
Number One Tight End : F. Mitchell, as a tight end he is the 13th ranked receiver in the league after three weeks. Pretty impressive with two receivers on his team above him in the top 12. He isn't far behind and has the most receptions for a tight end with 17, which is actually tied for the second most out of receivers. He is used as a safety net for his quarterback, he has 126 yards for an average of 7.4 a catch and one touchdown. Not sure how good his blocking skills are, but he is definitely a quality receiver.
Number Two Tight End : T. Hex, this one was very close, as both him and the next guy down have almost identical stats. I chose Hex because he has a slightly higher average yards per catch and is doing it with two very good receivers on the field with him. He has ten receptions for 110 and average of 11 yards a catch. Good numbers for a tight end who is third in line for receiving the ball.
Number Three Tight End : R. Krashwagen, as I said very similar numbers to Hex. Ten receptions for 107 yards for an average of 10.7 yards a catch. The main difference between them, is the depth chart of who catches the ball. Krashwagen only has one good receiver ahead of him in line for the ball. Their second best receiver is a rookie who has managed nine receptions so far. So he could potentially take a step forward and become that second threat or he could get overtaken by one of the rookies breathing down his neck looking for the ball.
On to the best Kickers after three weeks. This one was fairly easy, as two kickers really stand out for me.
Number One Kicker : P. QB, this dude is on fire so far. Four for four on extra points, honestly, not a big deal. But this man is nine for freaking nine on Field goals, with four of those being between 40 and 49 yards. He can't play quarterback, but he can kick the ball all day no problem.
Number Two Kicker : J. Burton, I realize he has missed some extra points, only going seven for nine with 77.8 percent success. But honestly that is only two points missed total, and he is kicking 100 percent on field goals going six for six with two of those from 40-49 yards. He get's less attempts at field goals because the offense likes to score touchdowns. But a damn fine kicker if I do say so myself.
So that takes care of the offensive positions that can score points. Now on to the Hog Mollys, those big old fatties making it possible for us other offensive players to score point, the Offensive Line. I debated going with Offensive lines as a whole or individual players, settled on a mix. I will pick the top Lines and highlight the players on each one that stand out.
Top Number One Offensive Line : Tijuana Luchadores. This wasn't really close. Looking at the list of top players overall, two of the top three are on the Luchadores. Both of them gunning for Offensive Lineman of the year, also both are rookies, making their achievements even more impressive. The number three lineman for the Luchadores is ranked number fourteen. So three in the top fourteen out of all lineman. Pretty solid group of bigguns. So the top two guys are basically the same guy split in two and multiplied by two, A Mellot and I. Riposte. Mellot leads the way with thirteen pancakes and zero sacks given up. This man is basically a mobile wall that allows nothing past it. Riposte has twelve pancakes and zero sacks given up as well, another mobile wall that lets nothing by. K. Davis is our number three lineman, with eight pancakes and zero sacks given up, another solid rookie lineman. These guys are going to go far in the league if they keep doing what they doing. It's nice to have these guys protecting our quarterback so we can go out and make those big plays. A big salute these guys!
Top Number Two Offensive Line : Kansas City Coyotes. Great offensive line overall. They only have one star though, which held them back from competing with the Luchadores. Their star is the number one rated offensive lineman after three games. C. Stallworth has a league leading 16 pancakes and zero sacks allowed so far. Not running away with the pancake title, but definitely a solid hold on first. Their second and third best lineman are where they drop off a little bit, F. Archstone the 10th best lineman with 10 pancakes and zero sacks is a solid player, just barely in the top ten. H. Antilles is the 16th lineman with eight pancakes and sacks, another solid lineman, nothing special yet, but could blossom into something elite. Their number four is right below that at 17th, but C. Quigley also has 8 pancakes, but has given up a sack, so while fairly highly ranked, he can be beaten on occasion, something to watch for going forwards for the Coyotes.
Top Number Three Offensive Line : London Royals, This is where it get's difficult to really rank the lines, as they are all somewhat close together after the top two. I chose the Royals because they have more potential for greatness than the others, but after three weeks their top three lineman have given up two sacks, and their fourth(he isn't very good) has given up two by himself. Their top guy is H. asf, a solid backbone for the line with twelve pancakes, but he has given up one sack so far, not bad after three games, but not elite either when compared with the top few guys. M. Elephant is actually the guy I give a higher grade too, he hasn't given up any sacks and still managed eleven pancakes, maybe he isn't as flashy as Asf, but he gets the job done. Potential to be a top lineman going forwards. S. Pherni, another solid lineman who has produced ten pancakes, but has given up one sack, again giving up one sack in three games is not bad at all. It is actually very good, but we have to judge them based off what the top guys are doing and that is where this team falls behind the other two ranked ahead.
Overall, the offenses in the league are getting their timing and cohesion going after just three weeks. A lot of rookies are in starting positions across all the teams, so it makes sense it would take some time to come together and gel as a team. So far, I really like the offense the Luchadores have going forwards and the Seawolves look to have something going on for them as well.
I'll get the defense rankings out sometime soon, might take me a few days to get all the numbers together for that. Let's get out there and have a great week four of games!
