Timmy Dimbi Week 11 Through Playoffs
Vs Minnesota Grey Ducks
The Tijuana Luchadores came into this game being in first place with a 7-3 record. The Tijuana Luchadores are also coming off back to back wins leading into this home tilt against the Minnesota Grey Ducks. The game began with the Ducks getting out to a 7-3 lead in the first quarter. In the second quarter, both defenses came to play with both the Minnesota Grey Ducks and Tijuana Luchadores holding each other to a single field goal each. For the Tijuana Luchadores, quarterback Mike Boss JR had a solid game going 20/36 in the air for 206 yards, 1 touchdown, and threw 1 interception. Their run game was once again strong with both Mills and Theeks getting over 60 yards in rushing each. Theeks were on fire scoring two touchdowns on the night. The Tijuana Luchadores run game has been excellent this season. On the receiving end, Howlett had almost 100 yards in receiving and a touchdown. On the defensive side Schnell, and FootballLeague has excellent games with 2 sacks each. Another sack came from Sabor. Tate and Schnell also were busy tackling with 9 tackles each on the night. Defensive tackle Timmy Dimbi was quiet with no real plays made.
“I feel like I was out there making room for other guys to make plays. I wish I was able to get some tackles in but at the end of the day, my job is to make room for other guys. I am there to disrupt the offensive line. I selfishly wish I was able to get more tackles and sacks but at the end of the day, football is a team game. I can not be selfish in wanting my own success. I am developing and getting better so for now I need to focus on that. I know eventually, my stats will get there. We are winning, and we need one more win to clinch a playoff spot. That is the goal now.”
@London Royals
The Tijuana Luchadores were coming into this with a red hot defense and rushing game. The Tijuana Luchadores were looking to clinch the coveted playoff spot with a win and other results going their way. The Luchadores were coming into a tough road game against the London Royals after a big win over the Minnesota Grey Ducks. In this game, the London Royals got off to a hot start with a 10-0 lead. The Tijuana Luchadores were struggling a bit with turnovers and penalties. In the second quarter, the London Royals put up a field goal to lead 13-0. In the third quarter, the tide started to turn with the Tijuana Luchadores putting pressure and points on the board. The Luchadores matched the London Royals 10 points in the third quarter and were down by 3 heading into the fourth quarter of a big road game. In the fourth quarter, the Tijuana Luchadores defense locked it down while the offense went down and scored a touchdown for the lead which they held onto for the 17-10 road win and the Tijuana Luchadores clinched their spot in the Developmental Simulation Football League playoffs! For the Tijuana Luchadores Boss Jr had a bit of a rough day going 11/25 for 106 yards but also had two touchdowns. While his numbers do not look great, he did manage to put his team in a position to win, and at the end of the game, his team won. Once again the Luchadores rushing game was solid with Mills recording 63 yards. In receiving both Howlett and Vequain found the end zone in this game. On the defensive game, Schnell made 11 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 sack, and 1 pass disruption. Another good performance on the defensive side Tate made 10 tackles and Wrecks had 1 tackle for loss and a sack. Overall the Tijuana Luchadores had a solid game with their defense coming up massively again which seems to be the theme of the season. Defensive tackle Timmy Dimbi once again did not factor in the game on the stats sheet.
“I am pumped we were able to clinch a playoff spot. This was a big road win for us, and we keep winning. The next step is to keep winning to keep our spot at top of the league and conference. This game was kind of like the last game. I was just making room for the guys. I was feeling kind of down but I know I should not. I kind of had a few chats with the guys and coaches and they have been telling me the same things. I can not let myself get wrapped up in stats and just keep grinding. I know I am valuable to the team's success even if it does not show on the stats. This team is special."
Vs Portland Pythons
The Tijuana Luchadores have been on a roll lately and were looking to continue their dominance of the Developmental Simulation Football League. In the first two quarters, the Portland Pythons got off to a good start going up 14-7. The Portland Pythons continued to dominate the Tijuana Luchadores and steamrolled to a 34-10 win which could be considered a bit of an upset win. Overall the Tijuana Luchadores offense seemed to do okay but was unable to get into the end zone while the defense was unable to keep the ball out of the endzone. The defense recorded zero sacks and only 1 play disruption which is odd from this Tijuana Luchadores team. It seems like the defense finally had a bad game, but the Tijuana Luchadores must still feel pretty good about their team overall. They did have a lot of yards in penalties in this game though. Once again, rookie defensive tackle Timmy Dimbi was nowhere to be found on the stats sheet.
“This was kind of a frustrating one for the team. We thought we played pretty good on offense but we kind of struggled on the defensive side. I guess every team has those moments and this happened to be ours. I feel like it has been our only poor effort thus far. We are an amazing group and I know we will bounce back from this.”
@ Norfolk Seawolves
The Tijuana Luchadores had a big final game against the Norfolk Seawolves who were on their tails for the top spot in the Developmental Simulation Football League but the Tijuana Luchadores I believe had the tiebreaker anyways but it was still a massive game to end the season. The Tijuana Luchadores came into this game with a 9-4 record and the Norfolk Seawolves came into the game with an 8-5 record. The game started off with the Tijuana Luchadores going up 7-0 on a touchdown. This game was intense and both defenses were playing great. The Tijuana Luchadores put up a field goal in the third and the Norfolk Seawolves put up a single field goal in the fourth quarter. The Tijuana Luchadores win a massive away game heading into the playoffs in Norfolk 10-3. For the Tijuana Luchadores, quarterback Boss Jr. had a decent game going 19 for 28 in passes for 208 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception. Running back Mills had a great game with 96 rushing yards. On the defensive side, Wrecks had a good game with 1 sack and 7 tackles. Rookie defensive tackle Timmy Dimbi had a solid game playing in a new position of a defensive end. He recorded 1 tackle and 1 tackle for loss.
“It felt kind of weird to be playing a different position but it was also kind of nice too. I felt pretty comfortable playing at defensive end. It also gave me some more time in the field which was nice and I felt more in the play and in the game in general. Overall I felt like my game was solid with my 1 tackle and a tackle for a loss of yards. It felt good getting my hands on someone and making plays. I am pretty pumped about going into the playoffs with a huge win and being the top team. I feel like this team is pretty special. We got a great group. Next step in to keep winning in the playoffs.”
Playoffs
The top seeded Tijuana Luchadores went into the playoffs against the Norfolk Seawolves. They were looking to punch their way to the final after their excellent regular season. The game was intense with both teams hungry for the win. The Norfolk Seawolves got the lead with a touchdown in the first quarter. The Tijuana Luchadores took the lead in the second quarter with a touchdown and a field goal. The third was a defensive showdown with both teams scoring a field goal. Much of the same in the fourth quarter with just the Seawolves getting a field goal forcing the overtime quarter. In overtime, the teams went back and forth multiple times but the Seawolves got the winning touchdown to punch their ticket to the final, sending the Tijuana Luchadores home. Overall the Tijuana Luchadores played a strong game but the luck was not in their favor in this game. Rookie Timmy Dimbi has a solid game with 3 tackles and 1 sack. The Tijuana Luchadores excellent regular season ended with disappointment but they should be proud of how they performed this season.
“It sucked to not make it to the finals after our great regular season. I wish our group could have won together. I know many of the guys are going to be up in the International Simulation Football League next season so it sucks they could not get a ring. I think overall my season was okay. I wish I maybe could have made more plays but I feel like next season will be better for me. I will have more experience and maybe some more snaps under my belt. The next thing for me is to get ready for the draft and hopefully I will hear my name called.”
Timmy Dimbi had a solid rookie season in the Developmental Simulation Football League. While his statistics and snaps may be a bit lackluster, his development has been solid. Timmy Dimbi has made great strides since joining the Tijuana Luchadores four weeks into the season. Next season Timmy Dimbi will likely be back with the Tijuana Luchadores next season as he was a bit of a late bloomer. Although many of the Tijuana Luchadores are leaving, Timmy Dimbi may be considered a veteran type player next season but it all depends on player movement. The Season 25 International Simulation Football League Draft is underway and the presentation of the draft will be this week. Timmy Dimbi has been on a lot of scouts radars recently and will likely be a late round draft pick. Many scouts question his upside, but many think he could be a big steal compared to where he will be picked. Right now Timmy Dimbi is ranked near the fifth or sixth round of the draft. He may go a bit higher but that seems doubtful at this point. Timmy Dimbi remains a wildcard draft pick who comes with a lot of risks but also a lot of potential rewards. It will be interesting to see where Timmy Dimbi falls and to follow the future career of Timmy Dimbi. Next, we will analyze Timmy Dimbi as a prospect in a scouting report media piece which should be out this week. He is an interesting prospect to look at as he has the physical tools and athletic ability to play in the International Simulation Football League but may currently lack the elite football skills right now.
