So here’s a quick little media piece on the first half of the first round of the S25 ISFL Draft. I’m literally only doing this for media because I can’t afford training this week and needed something quick. Naturally due to the draft still being fresh on my mind I figured I would make up some bullshit article about it and some of the people/players in it. For all of the people that I did not get to write about today, I apologize.
Pick #: 1
Team: Berlin Fire Salamanders
Player Name: Swantavius Jones (Swanty on Forums)
Position: Cornerback
Thoughts: Swanty is someone I’ve seen all over the place, working on budgets, on the forums and CB is one of the premium positions when it comes to Draft Day Sports Pro Football 2016, so it’s a smart pickup here from the Berlin Fire Salamanders’ GMs and one they’re definitely happy with moving forward. Swanty may be behind in TPE (At draft time at least) as he was 34th at the time, but prospects with a steady job are usually considered “premium” and Swanty seems like a great person. Smart pick for an expansion team looking to get a franchise cornerstone here.
Pick #: 2
Team: Yellowknife Wraiths
Player Name: Dan Foster (Arkz on forums)
Position: Cornerback
Thoughts: Arkz is a great guy and someone I’ve seen around in locker rooms over in the Simulation Hockey League. Similar to the Swanty selection, Yellowknife makes the smart choice to take an active player who’s playing at a premium position at the ISFL level. Arkz is among the best earners (12th at the time of the draft) and the Python had a lot of high praise from people around the league leading up to this pick. Yellowknife makes the smart play here and pick up an active user playing a premium position.
Pick #: 3
Team: Philadelphia Liberty
Player Name: Tex Wrecks (209tacos on forums)
Position: Defensive End
Thoughts: Tex Wrecks is a sim league vet as a user over from the Pro Baseball Experience (PBE), he has a lot of experience making some dope graphics there and he’s clearly brought that here with numerous slick sigs for several users. The Liberty went for the chatty Defensive End here to help fill up their holes on the defensive line. With their 5th overall pick from a couple of seasons ago (Tycker Om) and Reggie Culbertson going inactive, the team was in desperate need of a Defensive Lineman, which allows Tex Wrecks to slide into a perfect situation that allows him to stand out as a star.
Pick #: 4
Team: San Jose Sabercats
Player Name: Raylan Crowder (Asked Madden on forums)
Position: Defensive End
Thoughts: Asked Madden is a user I’ve seen around Discord a few times and have only heard good things about, so they’ve clearly been doing something right. Raylan Crowder is currently 6th in TPE in their class and have a big bank account with 13M, these are all good signs and prove that the Sabercats made the right selection in taking him with their 4th overall pick. Leading up to this pick, San Jose found themselves in a similar situation to Philadelphia. They had an elite Defensive Tackle in Otis Allen (Love you Kolt) but they were lacking a little otherwise with a non-max earner in Yuuto Kira Cloudera and an inactive Chip Otle and I like the pick to shore up their defensive line here.
Pick #: 5
Team: Colorado Yeti
Player Name: Albert Ruschmann (katarn22 on forums)
Position: Defensive End
Thoughts: Another pick, another defensive lineman taken. Albert Ruschmann is one of the players I’ve seen all over the place, hanging out in different servers, playing games with others, posting on the forums… He’s been all over the place. Katarn22 is currently 11th in TPE and fills a big need in Colorado’s defense on the Defensive Line. Colorado currently lacks any Defensive Tackles and has 3 Defensive Ends (Sadly one of them is inactive) and gives them an immediate boost there.
Pick #: 6
Team: Baltimore Hawks
Player Name: Felix Archstone (GlimsTC on forums)
Position: Offensive Line
Thoughts: Butters is reunited with his former draftee in Felix Archstone. For those of you that have been around the discord servers know that Glims is among one of the nicest people on the site. The Offensive Lineman will provide the Baltimore Hawks’ Locker Room with a big boost in activity. Another thing that’s worth mentioning is the boost in scouting that Glims would be able to provide behind the scenes, giving the new GMs Butters and Starboy a big helping hand moving forward.
Pick #: 7
Team: Honolulu Hahalua
Player Name: Guy Fields (r0tzbua on forums)
Position: Linebacker
Thoughts: Guy Fields received a lot of high praise from his former Dallas Birddogs GM iSteg in a media post (For anyone that missed it and wants to check it out https://forums.sim-football.com/showthre...#pid353105). R0tzbua is someone I’ve also seen talking all over the place and manages to fill a big hole (at the time) as they only had one active LB (Heinrich Kackpoo). Guy Fields is also among the top 13 when it comes to earning and will be an anchor on the Hahalua defense as his career progresses.
Coming up next on my media piece, the rest of the 1st round:
Pick #: 8
Team: Arizona Outlaws
Player Name: Tayshawn Crunk (Crunk on forums)
Position: Free Safety
Pick #: 9
Team: Chicago Butchers
Player Name: James Gath (Beefstu409 on forums)
Position: Cornerback
Pick #: 10
Team: New Orleans Second Line
Player Name: Medicinal Toblerone (JuOSu on forums)
Position: Offensive Line
Pick #: 11
Team: Orange County Otters
Player Name: Goat Tank (Eldorian on forums)
Position: Defensive Tackle
Pick #: 12
Team: Sarasota Sailfish
Player Name: Peter Patterson (slate on forums)
Position: Cornerback
Pick #: 13
Team: New York Silverbacks
Player Name: Hank Winchester (timeconsumer on forums)
Position: Linebacker
Pick #: 14
Team: San Jose Sabercats
Player Name: Rich Triplet (kotasa on forums)
Position: Cornerback
