As the Developmental Simulation Football League's season is reaching it's peak, London Royals wide receiver Tugg Speedman sat down to field questions from around the league, in this exclusive presser. At the time of this presser, the league has just finished its 9th week of the regular season and the London Royals are sitting at 7-2 and on a 5 game win streak. Now, lets get to the questions that our generous community provided for Tugg.
If you could pick one team to be winless next season, who would you pick and why?
While I wish no team to actually go winless, I do wish every single team that passed on myself in the league draft go winless or at least have losing seasons. Some may call this a vendetta yet I prefer the term retribution.
Have any ISFL teams reached out to you yet? Any thoughts into where you would like to land?
A decent number of teams have reached out, but obviously it's still early. I hope these teams don't miss out like these other teams did in the DSFL. I am a game-changer and will help you win games. That's the truth. You're going to get a winner if you draft me... so hit me up baby!
Why won't you like my tweets?
You need to tweet more! I've liked a couple, but I got you. Keep tweetin' and I'll start likin' them.
Who do you think the first Royal off the board will be?
Tugg Speedman. I have some amazing teammates that will flourish but I'm the best player in the upcoming ISFL draft. I'm sure they'll be right behind me in the first round though. Much love to my teammates man, we're on fire right now.
Biggest Difference from PBE to ISFL?
Okay I am going to answer this as myself lol I think the speed in which things are graded and updated in the PBE is quicker. I think that and streaming on Youtube is a lot different. I don't mean to throw any shade at the index people or the people that check and update thread since I don't do it myself but in the PBE it's a pretty quick turnaround. Youtube is nice for streams as you can pause, rewind, and whatnot, but compared to Twitch the chatroom is a little more difficult to follow and the layout is not as engaging.
How do you think Deadly Remains so untoxic?
Yo Deadly is funny as hell. They remain so untoxic by being true to themselves (except when it's super late at night and our Geo Guesser group is struggling).
Favorite player whos not on The London Royals?
A cop-out answer will be Leonard Taylor, the linebacker for the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers. He's playing on legacy and really has to prove his worth out there with his namesake. He's a competitor that maybe one day I'll be able to play on the same team with. (Also he's my brother in real life)
What upcoming game release are you most looking forward to?
Oh my god, easiest yet most fun question thus far. I can say with absolute certainty that it is Cyber Punk 2077. This game is going to be revolutionary and I can't wait. It's been delayed for, I believe, the 4th or 5th time but if it's going to make it a complete product with no day one bugs then I am completely okay with it. The game look beyond beautiful and if any company is going to crush a game like this it's CD Projekt Red.
You were part of a very large wide receiver group in your DSFL draft. What was the experience like being in such a large crop of new players at the same position? How did you feel about where you went in the DSFL draft? What are you hoping might be the same or different for the upcoming ISFL draft?
Yeah this DSFL draft class was insanely large, however I am very confident in my decision of being a wide-receiver and that Tugg Speedman is going to be one of the greatest wide receivers in league history. It was definitely interesting to find out that there were like ten additional wideouts made after I had made mine. I know some teams did not have a dire need at wide receiver however I really did think with being, at the time, a top 5 earner would make me a first round pick. London was my favorite team during the process and when I saw they passed on me in the first round, I thought I would fall to the early to mid second round. i wasn't even the first wide receiver taken which was more shocking to me. I fell to the very last pick of the second round, luckily to the London Royals. Hopefully I can work my way up to the first round in this next draft but we'll see. I've told several teams that I've talked to that I'd like to either be involved right away if I can be (obviously this depends on depth in the ISFL) or let me play an additional season in the DSFL and dominate for a second season.
For the first half of the DSFL season, you were a top receiver but couldn’t find the end zone. As we passed the halfway mark, you come out of the gate with two touchdowns. How did it feel to be denied the score even with first-class performances on the field early in the season? What was the turning point for your player that helped you find the end zone and what was that first score like? What was your celebration?
Yeah the dry spell of no touchdowns was rough, and probably anyone in the London Royals locker room could tell you I was disappointed but we all know how these games can go with sim-based results. I was beyond relieved to catch my first touchdown. It was the bright spot on a rather dull game for Tugg. That's not to say that our game wasn't exciting. I'm happy as hell we won but it being a game winning touchdown for Tugg made it that much sweeter. Follow this up with a 7 catch, 100 yard game, with my second touchdown was absolutely amazing and what I expect out of Tugg more often than not. The turning point for my player was pestering my QB on Twitter and working with him on the field as much as I could outside of games. My celebration consisted of my teammates creating a walkway for me to walk through them as if it was a red carpet.
After smashing the DSFL single game receiving record, what record is next on the to-do list?
After crushing that record (and tying the receptions in a game record) is to put my name in the London Royals record book for catches and yards in a season. I think we're too far into the season to get the touchdown record... but you never know.
Why are you afraid to cross the middle of the field against Leonard?
I'll never be afraid to run my routes or break a defensive players ankles so I think the real question is, why are you afraid to tackle Tugg?
Since you haven't recorded a touchdown yet this season, how many do you think you will end the season with once you regress back to the mean?
So obviously this question was asked before the recent sim. I think I'll end the season with 4 MAYBE 5 touchdowns. It's hard to say with the most electric offense in the DSFL. Our run game is phenomenal and our weapons in the passing game are undeniable. Time will tell.
Would you ever play with Leonard?
As mentioned earlier, I would love to play with Leonard Taylor, however competing against him is almost just as good.
I want to thank everyone for their questions. It was a lot of fun doing my first ever presser in the ISFL. I hope to do it again sometime in the not so distant future.
