This is the very first in a series of media in which I, the best Berlin running back, deliver to you the thrill of opening dotts packs without having to spend your valuable money on virtual pieces of paper that you can't even trade yet.
S3 - Nicholas Pierno - Quarterback - Colorado Yeti - Silver Tier
The entire Joefish card opening series starts off with..... a silver. Not really that big of a surprise to be honest, about one in every four cards is a silver. There's not much really special about this card. Nicholas Pierno actually initially created as a defensive tackle and then ended up switching positions, never playing a single snap there. He was drafted to the Wraiths and subsequently drafted to the Kansas City Coyotes 2nd overall. That's right, this guy was the second player to ever be drafted in the DSFL and the first quarterback. He was then traded away to Colorado along with two draft picks for Luke Tiernan. Also, according to timeconsumer, he was snubbed from the Yeti hall of fame.
S22 - Friedrich Vequain - Wide Receiver - Austin Copperheads - Silver Tier
Two silver cards in a row for the inaugural pack, and I am a little less not happy about this card then I am the first one. Vequain played his rookie season for the Copperheads this past season, where he caught 41 passes for 444 yards and 3 touchdowns. The reason I'm happier about this card isn't because Vequain is better than the lat card, but because he's still in the league, active and earning. He already claimed this season's training camp, something that I haven't done yet. This means that in the future he might earn himself a gold or better tier card, and I can get a set of the differently tiered Friedrich Vequain cards.
S1 - Alex Hansen - Safety - San Jose Sabercats - Silver Tier
Another silver, three in a row. What are the odds? This one goes way back, to a time before the DSFL, or even Bex. But to be fair Bex is actually pretty shiny and new compared to some people in the league. Alex Hansen, not to be confused with Eric Hansen, who also played on the Sabercats, was drafted 71st overall in the very first NSFL draft to the Yellowknife Wraiths and played with them for a little bit before being traded along with Chris Orosz in exchange for a first, a second, and a third round pick. His card is a silver, so he never got more than 550 TPE, and he eventually went inactive and regressed into one of the players that people don't know unless they were there.
S25 - Mark Walker - Wide Receiver - Yellowknife Wraiths - Bronze Tier
A bronze. This wouldn't be a valid dotts packs if it didn't have one. This is another one of those cards where if they stay active and earning then it is possible to get different tiers of Mark Walker, and collect the whole set. Additionally, depending on how quickly they are earning, this might be the only season this card is available, making it rarer because this specific bronze card will be discontinued. Anyway, about the player. Mark Walker was drafted to the Tijuana Luchadores in the 10th round of the season 24 DSFL draft. He was drafted to the Wraiths with the first pick in the fourth round, and got immediately called up to play with them, where he had 49 receptions for 579 yards.
S23 - Danny King - Running Back - Berlin Fire Salamanders - Bronze Tier
:tctFishWoah: this guy haunts my dreams. Of course I would pull his card before I pull my own. When he was on London, he was the bane of Portland's existence. He had 197 yards and three touchdowns in his two games against them in season 23,most of them coming in week 13 helping knock Portland out of the playoffs. And now, he's on the Berlin Fire Salamanders, getting more yards, carries, and touchdowns than Joseph Petrongolo. When will his torture of me end? Only good things about the card is that it's a Berlin card and that he's still updatin, though I'm not really sure I want any other Danny King cards.
S23 - Dre Matthews - Wide Receiver - Berlin Fire Salamanders - Bronze Tier
Two Berlin cards back to back? That's a pog moment. And another season 23 player, the best class to ever have existed. Nice. Matthews was drafted to Norfolk 30th overall (before me). In season 23 he had 937 yards and 9 touchdowns, winning the Wide Receiver of the Year award that season. In the ISFL with Berlin last season, he had almost 800 yards and 8 touchdowns. Matthews used to be on the Liberty before being taken in the expansion draft. This is a card that will definitely have better tiers in future seasons, and I would like to collect, unlike some other cards.
So, first pack day gone, Ultimus odds not helping me, I didn't even get a gold lol.
Bronze - 3 (3 total)
Silver - 3 (3 total)
