Like I've done the past two seasons, here is the annual study of the bias of awards voters. I slightly fixed the formula from last season, but nothing major. Same basic idea. If Player X finished 3rd in their positional award, but their GMs voted them as 1st, the GMs get a -2. If they instead left them out of their top three, they get +1, etc.
ISFL Most to Least Average Bias
1. PHI -1.600
2. YKW -1.400
3. BAL -1.250
4. SJS -1.000
5. AUS -1.000
6. ARI -1.000
7. CHI -0.833
8. SDCore (COL) -0.769
9. iStegosauruz (AUS) -0.600
10. HON -0.571
11. SAR -0.545
12. COL -0.538
13. NYS -0.538
14. NOLA -0.500
15. OCO -0.417
16. Bex (NOLA) -0.125
17. Colabear (YKW) -0.000
18. BER -0.000
For comparison, OCO was the most biased last season with a -1.375. Again, slightly altered formula, but should be comparable - if anything voters should show as less biased now...but that doesn't seem to be the case. Last season only nine voters (about half) had scores of -0.500 or worse, now this season its 14 out of 18. Also of note, OCO went from most biased to nearly the least. Baltimore went from least biased to one of the most. Kudos again to Bex who has been among the best scores each season, and HO in general does pretty well here, though not as good as last season.
DSFL Most to Least Average Bias
1. MIN -1.462
2. NOR -1.000
3. KCC -0.800
4. LON -0.688
5. POR -0.571
6. MB -0.091
7. Faded (MB) -0.000
8. Nunc (TIJ) -0.000
9. DAL -0.000
10. TIJ -0.000
11. TomHanks (TIJ) +0.167
12. Ephenssta (KC) +0.400
Slight surprise, as I was expecting DSFL voters to be more biased. Minnesota has a high number there (and were also the most biased last season with an astonishing -2.2), but for the most part this is pretty good.
