It’s that time of year where being thankful is the thing! It’s definitely something that we don’t spend enough time doing during the year so at least we have a holiday for it in the United States? There’s a lot of be thankful for this year even though it’s been crazy and for my player, Ace Savage, he’s thankful for being drafted. Definitely not a high pick, but one that was surprising was to be drafted by Norfolk. I’m thankful they took a chance on me and are giving me an opportunity to play RB2 alongside a great veteran like @C9Van . We haven’t had a chance to talk yet but I’m sure he’ll be around soon so we can discuss builds and the running back life. I’m thankful to have such a seasoned player to play alongside on the field and share carries with. Hopefully I can help him be more efficient in the long run this upcoming season.
Speaking of the team, I’m thankful there’s an awesome team discord! There’s lots of fun stuff there and the team is super chatty which I love. I have been apart of Madden discord leagues but those communities can get toxic real fast but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen here. The GMs Blasoon and JOEB are super active and I’m happy to see that they really care about the team. I couldn’t ask for a better first team in my first sim league like this! Our resident Christmas Moose is also very active and awesome to have around to help answer my questions and I’m very appreciative of their help!
I’m thankful for such a big and supportive community! The ISFL discord help channel answered a lot of my questions and then when I was invited to the rookie discord I got even more help from super active mentors there. I learned a lot very quickly and these guys were super responsive which made my orientation into the league much easier. I’m still digging around and probably taking longer to find things on the forums, but having a quick and responsive rookie discord makes me very thankful there’s something like that to help me out in the beginning. This is one of the biggest draws for me as a brand new fresh guy and it is probably what will keep me coming back to discord every day to check out what’s going on and to find the latest update announcements.
Ace Savage has had a great college career to be thankful for. Tennessee qualified for the College Football Playoff and faced off against Michigan State in the National Semifinals. In the 32–0 victory over the Spartans in the Cotton Bowl, he had 89 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns. During Tennessee's 45–27 victory over Alabama in the 2038 College Football Playoff National Championship, he rushed for 147 yards on 30 carries with three touchdowns. Hopefully he’ll have some more things to be thankful for in the DSFL when he starts playing for Norfolk.
I think that is about all the rambling I can do for being thankful and getting some more league money. I do like the structure that you guys have and earning TPE is super fun in the beginning. It’s like an RPG and I’m thankful you guys have a cool structure that rewards activity with money and upgrade points. It’s been a crazy year so finding a sim league like this is super fun and I’m thankful I have something fun to focus on to forget about some of the pandemic craziness going on in the world.
