In this article, I will be covering some of the players’ careers thus far that were drafted close to me last draft.
First, I will cover running back Ace Savage who was drafted #33 overall to Norfolk SeaWolves. Before entering the DSFL draft, Ace attended the University of Tennessee. So far, Ace has accumulated 170 total TPE, which is definitely a good showing activity-wise for the rookie back. Currently, Ace is listed at a 66 overall, with a highly impressive speed rating of 89! His stats are equally impressive as he has tallied 325 yards - averaging 4.9 yards per carries, however, he is yet to get his first touchdown. Regardless, Ace is proving to be a great running back with quite a bit of potential if he keeps up his output this season!
Next, I will cover offensive lineman Mau Waialiki who was drafted #34 overall to the Dallas Birddogs. After a great career at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, he was noticed by scouts and was drafted into the DSFL. So far, Maui has gotten a highly impressive TPE total of 178! He is currently listed at a 75 overall, and as a rookie is the highest overall offensive lineman on the Birddogs roster. There is no doubt that Maui has been an instrumental part of the Birddogs success thus far in the season. His stats are equally impressive as he has averaged 2.5 pancakes per game and is yet to allow a sack! I’m almost certain that the staff at Dallas are exceptionally happy with their decision to pick Maui.
Next, we’ve got kicker/punter Armando Galarraga who was drafted #35 overall to the Kansas City Coyotes. Armando was born in Venezuela and ultimately decided to attend Western Michigan to play football. So far he has accumulated 72 TPE, which is not bad, but I hope to see his gain ramp up soon! Armando is currently listed at a 68 overall and is the starting kicker for the Coyotes. So far, Armando has booted in 100% of his extra points and is 6/9 on field goals. Also, he is ⅔ from every distance range (except for <20 yard field goals) with a longest kick of 47 yards. Armando is having a decent rookie season, but I’m sure the Kansas City staff and GMs would appreciate some ramped up TPE gain and activity, as they are currently 0-4.
The next player I will cover is Massimo Rocco; the second running back I will be covering. Massimo was taken #37 overall to the Minnesota Grey Ducks after playing college ball at the University of Wyoming. He has accumulated a total of 86 TPE and is listed as a 62 overall currently. He was the second running back the Grey Ducks selected in a draft, however, he has still gotten a chance to get a large number of carries. His stats currently come in at 69 rushes for an average of 4.1 yards per carry and a total of 283 yards. While he hasn’t put up the same output as Ace Savage, he does have a touchdown, unlike Ace. Massimo has put up some decent activity, and due to the fact the Grey Ducks have two solid backs, I assume the staff over in Minnesota aren’t unhappy at all with their decision to draft Massimo.
Next, I will be covering defensive tackle Henrik Von Pigeon, who was selected #38 overall to the Bondi Beach Buccaneers. Before getting drafted in the DSFL, Henrik played for the London Blitz. So far, he has racked up 75 total TPE and is listed as a 61 overall. Certainly not terrible, however, I am sure the staff at Bondi Beach would like an improvement in activity. So far, Henrik has gotten 9 tackles, but is yet to get a sack. But he may have made up for his statistical production by blocking a punt! That makes Henrik one of 4 players to block a punt this season, and the only rookie to do so. In conclusion, Henrik is doing alright, but a boost in activity could see his production skyrocket.
The second to last player I will be covering is Thor Shakechucker. Thor was drafted #39 overall to the London Royals. Thor attended the Montana Punter College, however, it is unclear when he graduated considering he is 56 years old. I’m not positive, but I have to assume that he is the oldest DSFL rookie ever. Quite the accomplishment! As of right now, his total TPE is 57 which is a bit underwhelming, and his overall comes in at 64. Thor was not the only kicker/punter drafted by the Royals, and due to his inconsistent TPE gaining, he is not the starter for either position, however, it is unclear to me why he isn’t the starting punter. Because he is the second string for both positions, he is yet to record any stats.
The last player I will be covering is linebacker Devonte Crook who was drafted #41 overall to the Tijuana Luchadores. Devonte was certainly quite the steal, as he has accumulated 155 total TPE so far. Earlier in the season, Devonte used his free DSFL position swap to move to defensive end. His overall is currently listed at 75, which is super high for a rookie! He is also doing a good job statistically and has gotten 12 tackles, and 2 tackles for loss. Also, he has recorded one sack so far. Devonte definitely has a very, very bright future if he continues his activity and he could even go down as one of the bigger steals in the draft!
Thank you for reading my article! I hope you enjoyed learning about some great players that have some great potential!
