Hey everyone! Over the last few weeks, I've made some articles that focus on statistics and providing some valuable information to the league through the power of the data available to us on the index. And the index is great, don't get me wrong. But to make the articles that I have, it took a long amount of time to transfer the data available to tables on an Excel spreadsheet. It is possible to write code that is able to automatically transfer these data to a spreadsheet. But I lack both the time and skill to be able to do that. As a result, I had an idea.
I want to transfer most data of all 28 seasons of the ISFL to a Google Sheets document, so it is accessible to everyone in the community to view and use. While I could do this on my own, to do it hundreds of times would take multiple hours and would be a tiring and boring effort. If multiple people did it, however, it would be much easier and faster.
It is possible to transform, through the Excel app in an Android or iOS device, pictures into tables that go directly into Excel. The AI used to do this, however, is imperfect and can lead to some errors that need to be manually corrected, one by one. My plan was that a few users could help me do this with most stats, so it could all be compiled at the end.
As a reward for this effort, I plan to give as much of 100% of credit (and therefore media payment) to the next few articles that I write (I am on the process of writing 2 articles, with more possibly to come), since your help would also help me write these articles. Since I'm stuck at home because of the COVID pandemic, these articles have been a great source of stress relief for me, with the article payments coming more as a bonus than anything. I'd be glad to give it out to people who want it or need it.
