All right, let's do a comparison of who each ISFL player is if they were a current NFL player. Using the 2020 NFL season to make this easier on me.
Quarterbacks - We start here because not too many of them.
Colby Jack -Aaron Rodgers. He has been throwing all over the place. Sometimes it results in getting the win, other times we still lose. But he has 41 touchdowns through fourteen games, on pace to have an absolute killer season, stat wise. But also, on a pass first team, that has some unlucky breaks in games and looking like it will be a stretch to make the playoffs in a stacked division.
M. Caliban - Matt Ryan. Caliban is second in yards this season, he throws a lot, is known for being able to throw the ball all over the field. The biggest reason I picked Ryan is his touchdown to interception ratio being very similar, and of course he has some weapons at receiver. The biggest difference between the two is that Caliban is actually on a winning team who I believe has already clinched a trip to the playoffs. Ryan, not so much last season.
Monty Jack - Kirk Cousins. This was a tough one as no one really has stats that quite line up with Jack. It was between Cousins and Herbert, and I just feel the comp is stronger with Cousins. Their touchdown to pick ratio is closer than with Herbert. And with Cousins always being at least solid year in and year out, I feel like that is what you get from Cousins. You know he can go out there and throw the ball well for you, but you also know he is gonna have a couple of off games every season.
Mike Boss Jr - Russell Wilson. I am purely looking at their throwing stats. Both of them are throwing the ball really well, a decent number of picks, but their touchdowns more than make up for that. Both look like top tier quarterbacks, and can make all the throws.
N. Kaepercolin - Josh Allen. Both of them could easily play a different position based off their athleticism and size. Both choose to play quarterback. Both can throw the ball all the way down the field no problem, but both doing a solid job of getting touchdowns and not giving up too many picks. And of course both are on winning teams whose defense is helping out a lot.
C. Cortez - Philip Rivers. Both on solid teams with really good players on both sides of the ball. You know they can throw the ball well, but also you aren't normally asking them to go out there and be super man. But both can help lead their team to the playoffs and do some work. Granted Cortez isn't nearly as old nor is there any way he as many kids as Rivers.
S. Ramza - Derek Carr. They have the exact same ratio of touchdowns to picks. Both teams have crazy head coaches, with a solid amount of talent surrounding their quarter backs. They can make the throws, but again aren't asked to throw as much as some of the other teams out there gun slinging it every game.
J. Daytona - Matthew Stafford. Big arm quarter backs. Their biggest issue was the team around them just couldn't put it all together during the season. You might get some extra throwing at the end of games when you are down, but really hard to have the best stats when your offense spends less time on the field than the other teams around you.
B. Slothlisberger - Kyler Murray. Super talented quarter backs. Obviously the age is a big difference between the two. But Sloth has a lot of talent, he is only two season removed from a 5 thousand yard season with a killer touchdown to pick ratio. As of right now, they have almost the same ratio and while sloth does throw the ball a decent bit, he isn't quite on a level with the top guys.
S. Howitzer - Ben Roethlisberger. Big arm, having a solid season overall on a good team. Is he capable of a bigger throwing season? Absolutely. But, when you are winning, you do what ever is working, so at this point, he doesn't have a need to truly air it out and see what kind of numbers he can put up.
G. O'Donnell - Jared Goff. Both of them are capable of having big seasons with big numbers and their team winning. This season, the yards just aren't there for O'Donnell. But, then again with Chicago having a down year, it figures that he would have a worse season as well. The crazy part is he has thrown the ball a lot. He is fourth in the league with attempts, but that just hasn't worked out.
J. Christ Jr - Drew Lock. The sim is rarely kind to rookie quarter backs. Not only is he a rookie, but he is a rookie on a not great team this season. And it shows with his low touch down to pick ratio, he is also passing at a low rate. Third lowest attempts and yards on the season. As he grows, he could easily become a top tier passer.
R. Negs - Teddy Bridgewater. This is comparing the current Teddy to the current Negs. I think Negs has a lot of potential and it will show in the coming seasons, but as a young quarter back, it is hard. If you remember correctly at one point before the knee injury, Teddy looked like a super star about to bust out. So, I think Negs has it in him as well.
L. Skywalker - Drew Brees. This is comparing him to last years Brees. Both on their way out of the league. Just kind of last ditch effort hoping for something. The biggest issue for Skywalker is that he is on a team mid rebuild. They have tons of talent, but they just aren't quite at their peak or really ready. In a couple of season they will be there, but with out Skywalker most likely.
Running Backs
T. Nakamura - Derrick Henry. This was a fairly easy comparison as Nakamura is leading in touchdowns and yards and also attempts. Hard to argue with the leader in all things being compared to the NFL equivalent from last season. There are two games left and there is another running back with the same number of touchdowns on the ground plus a couple more receiving ones. But, just looking at the ground side, he is the clear leader at the moment.
G. Tank - Dalvin Cook. Second most attempts in the NFL versus the third most attempts in the ISFL. Both have a lot of touchdowns and seem to be able to run through opposing teams with ease. Still a couple of games for him to add a few touchdowns(and help me in fantasy).
C. Ichinose - James Robinson. Lots of yards and not many touchdowns on the ground. Closest I could find in the NFL was Robinson. Ichinose is churning out those yards though.
D. King Jr - Jonathan Taylor. Near the top in yards, not far behind in touchdowns. Seems like a solid comparison.
C. Rodgers - Aaron Jones. Another guy with solid yards, but lacking the touchdown department, especially when you compare him with anyone above him on this list, except Ichi.
Z. Watts - Nick Chubb. Good yards, good touchdowns, not as many attempts as anyone on the list above. Makes a lot of sense as far as that goes.
R. Gilbert - Alvin Kamara. Kamara is a little down the list in yards rushed for, but tied for second in touchdowns. And Gilbert is actually tied for first in rushing touchdowns, so makes some sense. Plus he has five receiving touchdowns, tied for second most from running backs.
B. Yoda - Todd Gurley. Makes sense. One of them is old as dirt, the other has knees old as dirt. Both scored a good amount of touchdowns, especially when you look at the yardage they got.
Wide Receivers
W. Lim - Stefon Diggs. Current leader in yards, but not quite up there in touchdowns. Only has a 40 something yard lead, so these last two games will decide a lot.
K. Sakura - Davante Adams. Touchdown leader and honestly within striking distance for yards with two games left. Could end up yards and touchdown leader by the end of the season.
J. Campbell - Deandre Hopkins. Third in yardage with a somewhat low amount of touchdowns when compared with the top guys. Still, a lot of yards for him.
Videl-San - Allen Robinson. Really respectable year between yards and touchdowns, still two games left, so no telling where Videl will ultimately finish out the season.
C. Skiuuup - Tyreek Hill. Tied for the touchdown lead, only 300 ish yards behind. Did get a lot of touchdowns early and has somewhat coasted through the second half of the season. But could end up the touchdown leader.
M. Walker - DK Metcalf. Started off a little slow, picked up steam late in the season with multiple two touchdown games in the last five games. Still has two games left and only one touchdown behind the top two guys.
B. Bodenhamer - Keenan Allen. Having a really good season, almost 1300 yards and ten touchdowns with two games left.
These last two games for wide receiver is going to settle a lot for who finishes with the most yards and touchdowns. It will be interesting to see how it finishes.
That is all I can manage at the moment. More articles incoming.
