There was some very unproductive chat going on in the responses to a media post.  He deleted a post made by one player that was a bit too accusatory, and a response quoting that person and attacking him.  He did this in response to a report as well, not just his own initiative.  It really seems he was trying to just keep things from exploding, but the conflict of interest made it a bit too much to let go as a mistake.

Thanks for explaining the whole story. Clearly, he was in the wrong, but context does matter.

For what it's worth, I think he's sort of in the right for deleting the shitposts before they got out of hand. The site doesn't need any dumb crap fests like the SHL has a lot of times.
