When you think of delicious product in North America, or the crunch of a freshly baked glazed maple donut, what's the first company that comes to mind? For many people in the world, their brain automatically goes to the popular brand Krispy Kreme. The company's success has predominantly been with a younger market in recent years as meme culture took to making the brand popular along with the ever popular mascot. Now the company is taking it one step further and entering the world of the National Simulation Football League. The company's mascot (aptly named Krispy Kreme) has officially announced that he will be playing in the league this coming season at the position of wide receiver. When looking over positional availability it was decided that this would be the best position for a lanky boy. Who is the man behind the costume thought you might ask, and why does he choose to wear a mask?

The man inside the suit is Eddie Rainer, an alumni of the Holy Cross Crusaders high school football program that has begun to produce a number of stars. Rainer is the next in the line of great talents, but will have a couple of difficulties due to his contract as the national mascot for the Krispy Kreme brand. Rainer has had all the makings of an NSFL superstar since he first started playing football with the Crusaders back in his freshman year, and was a major part of the team's last two provincial championships. He was a main target for quarterback Luke Boechler and was a huge asset in the team's all around success and locker room appeal. While he may get the chance to play in the NSFL, Krispy Kreme has mandated that he must do it all while wearing the mascot's costume, as per the following agreement in the contract.
Any appearence on national tevelsion by the following - Eddie Rainer - must occur whilst inside the official Krispy Kreme uniform. As well, the person in question may not wear any other brand related material while live.
This means that during the season Rainer won't be allowed to wear his team's jersey, but that shouldn't be a problem as most teams probably will know which team he's on as he will be the only person on the field in a giant inflatable donut costume. Rainer has no experience playing the game inside of a donut costume, and so adjustments are being made to the outfit to give him more room to move his arms freely as well as turning the original plastic mask into a synthetic that can be pressed against his face similar to a baclava. His ability to see and read the play shouldn't be an issue at all this season, and he will most likely continue to be one of the best receivers in the game despite the massive amount of plastic dough resting on his face.
