From the Baja Post:
One day before the much-anticipated Portland Pythons and Tijuana Luchadores games, Tijuana rookie safety has made a bizarre proclamation at a media presser. When asked questions regarding the preparation for the upcoming game, Wozniak instead chose to express his anger at the rookie WR.
Joseph Wozniak stated to the press:
“The thing I am looking forward to most in this upcoming game is exposing Jake Watson for the player that he really is: underwhelming. Last time we played Portland he got lucky, that won’t happen again. Jake Watson was the greatest mistake of the first round.”
During their last game, in which the Luchadores defeated the Pythons 37 – 27, Jake Watson had four catches for 41 yards, including two touchdowns. Joseph Wozniak also had a strong game, recording eight tackles, one sack, and a forced fumble. The upcoming gamge between the two teams with determine home field advantage should they face each other in the playoffs.
The Baja Post tried to determine what led to Joseph Wozniak’s aggressive outburst, but were able to find little. Jake Watson was selected in the first round by the Tijuana Luchadores, but he was promptly traded to the Portland Pythons. Wozniak and Watson appear to have no interactions in college.
The only reason for the negative emotions may have been a social media comment in which Jake Watson wrote, “illegaloctopus bad.” “Illegaloctopus” appears to be Joseph Wozniak’s social media username. Tijuana GMs attempted to smooth over the social media interaction, but it appears that they were unable to prevent Joseph Wozniak from reaching the media.
Joseph Wozniak would continue to say:
“This game is going to show why Tijuana was so willing to give up Jake Watson, he’s just not good enough. The guy has what, not even 400 yards so far? He’s getting like 30 yards a game and thinks he’s the greatest WR ever. We are about to show him that he better spend a few years in the DSFL before even trying to move on up to the NSFL. He thinks he’s Chris Carter, but he isn’t even Laquon Treadwell.”
So far on the year Jake Watson has 383 yards on 39 catches, along with six touchdowns. He has received praise for his play making and touchdown success so far on the season.
Teammates of Wozniak were surprised by this announcement, stating that his did not seem to be something that Joseph would do, as they did not believe there was bad blood between the players. An antonymous source stated that he overheard Joseph Wozniak telling him GMs not too worry, that he was doing this all for a pair of shoes.
