Following the S22 DSFL Draft, the Tijuana Luchadores selected a wide range of fresh prospects, including two CBs in the top 30, two LBs in the top 50, the new QB1, Ben Slothlisberger, and of course a pair of offensive linemen in the top 100. However, today we'll be looking at the WR pair the Luchadores drafted - Thomas Passmann of Hogwarts, being drafted with pick #36, and Friedrich Vequain of Florida, being drafted with pick #68, depressingly just one pick off of the coveted #69.
Passmann has certainly been made an impression on the league already, primarily due to being a proud and public Satanist. For some odd reason, we have no reports on the inside about Passmann's teammates' thoughts about his beliefs. Just after training, we managed to catch rookie Friedrich Vequain on his way walking home, constantly looking over his shoulder in anxiety. Here is a transcript of our brief interview with Vequain.
Reporter: Hi Friedrich, before we ask you a few questions, welcome to Tijuana, we're happy to have you here!
Vequain: Yes hello
Reporter: First and most importantly, what are your thoughts on being just one pick off Pick #69?
Vequain: It keeps me up every night. I can't stop thinking about what could have been and why God has taken that incredible opportunity from me. I can't wait to run past Fawn Dillmiballs in the future.
Reporter: Okay then. How are you feeling about your fellow draftees? I'm sure you're already establishing friendships with a lot of the team.
Vequain:Um. Yes. Yes. I like all of my teammates. All of them. I do not fear any of my teammates at all. They are all very kind and friendly and kind.
Reporter: That's great to hear! And what are your thoughts on your fellow rookie receiver Thomas Passmann? I'm sure you two already have a great bond and are looking to make an impact on the league together.
Vequain: I really like him he is very friendly and not scary and very friendly.
Reporter: That's great to hear! What are your thoughts on his Satanism? That has seemed to stir a bit of controversy in Tijuana recently, especially in the Christian community.
Vequain: I really like him he is very friendly and not scary and very friendly.
Reporter: I'm sorry what do you mean? And I hope you don't mind me asking what those marks on your neck are?
Vequain: He is very kind to me and to everybody on the team. Everybody loves having him on the team especially players and coaches. I have to go shopping now please leave me alone.
Reporter: Friedrich you're walking in the wrong direction the stores are the other way!
*Vequain's footsteps are heard as he runs away looking around frantically*
That's all we have from Vequain as of now. A rather strange interview, but it finally gave us some insight about what the Luchadores think of Passmann, and it is clear to see that he is a very well-liked guy around the locker room despite being a Satanist and his comments about vampirism. We can't wait to see Passmann and Vequain working together with their new star QB, Ben Slothlisberger, and we're sure the speedy WR pair will be able to motivate each other to emerge as star WRs in the DSFL for Tijuana.
