MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION
5. Is a Hot Dog a sandwich?
1. I think I'm off to a good start for season two so far. My update today will launch me from 70 TPE to 120 TPE. I've just been a lot more active ever since the NSFL draft. I'm having fun, so I think that I'll be able to keep it up, so I think that will help me to rebound. I'll still be behind the other guys from my class, but I'm trying my best!
2. Hm, that's a really tough question. On the field, Buck has gotta be up there, as the DBOTY. Off the field, I've really enjoyed talking to you, Jango, Tylus, and Ducky. I'm sure I'd enjoy talking to everyone else too, I just haven't had as many chances to yet.
3. I don't think that I'm qualified to answer this question, since I've only ever been in one DSFL locker room, but I guess I can try haha. The Grey Ducks locker room is really active and fun. Lots of people talking at all hours of the day, and you can jump in whenever you want. Everyone makes you feel welcome, and helps out the new guys such as myself whenever they can. It's going to be a bittersweet day when I get called up to the Butchers.
4. My knowledge of the league is.... not great, since I was kind of inactive for my first season. I've been hearing chatter about the Otters being the team to beat in the NSFL, but I'm not sure about any DSFL predictions. I know the Grey Ducks have a lot of guys returning, including DBOTY Buck Thornton, and one of the top projected RBs in the league in THE Jamar Lackson. I believe we've won 2 of the last 3 Ultiminis as well, so to me, that seems like we could be a top team in the DSFL this season.
5. This is a spicy one. First off, the term "hot dog" technically means the sausage itself. So that would be an easy no. However, I know you're asking about the hot dog plus bun variety. My heart says no, a hot dog is not a sandwich. However, I can think of some arguments for the contrary. I think I'm going to go with my heart though, and say no. I think that a sandwich needs to have a bottom AND top containing element (bread, bun, etc.).

2: How do you think the Ducks team is looking this season?
3: Who is someone you admire in the league?
1. As I've become more active, I think that being a Grey Duck is pretty awesome. The locker room is fantastic. As I said in my answers to Jamar, everyone is really nice and helpful. I've really enjoyed my time here ever since I actually started talking to everyone. I'm going to be sad to leave the guys when I eventually get called up.
2. I believe that we have a chance to be a top team this season. We returned some key guys, especially on defense. I think that our entire secondary is returning. At CB, I'm returning and became active, Matt Krause (our only active CB last season, oops) is returning I believe, both safeties (including DBOTY Buck Thorton) are returning. Von Pebbles is going to wreck from the edge, and I'm sure that there are others returning as well. On the other side of the ball, I think that Sim is going to have a great year at QB. Jamar is coming back for one more season and is projected to be one of the top backs in the league. The top brass did a great job at bolstering the offense especially through the draft, bringing some great guys in such as yourself. I'm not too up to snuff on the other teams, but man, it just seems like we're in a great spot this season.
3. I think that the two guys I have to mention here are Buck and Jango. I haven't talked to him too much, but Buck was the DBOTY last season, that's something that you have to look up to. That's one of the goals for every DB, including myself. Jango shows so much excitement for the league, and is such a great locker room presence, so that's someone that I look up to as well.

2. Do you have any goals for yourself or the team?
3. I see you have some alcohol, what are you drinking?
4. How do you feel about your NSFL team?
5. What is the worst thing you would do for a Klondike bar?
6. Can you believe its not butter?
7. Why are you?
1. Ultimini. I think we're in a great position to win it. I'm also hoping that I can show improvement across the board, and prepare myself for a possible call up by the Butchers next season. I need to improve as much as possible so that I can help the Grey Ducks this season, and hopefully make an impact at the next level next season.
2. I touched on this in the last question, but my team goal is an Ultimini. I don't think that's unrealistic for us to accomplish. I'm not sure that it's in the realm of possibility to get any individual awards, so as for personal goals, I just want to see myself improve across the board.
3. Unfortunately, I decided to wait until morning to answer these, so that my answers would be more coherent. My girlfriend and I were celebrating her finishing grad school last night! I started the night off with my favorite beer - Boulevard Wheat. Through the rest of the night, I had a few shots of Blackberry Bird Dog Whiskey, and several Busch Lights. She is a psychopath, so all she drinks is straight shots of Jack Daniels.
4. I'm excited to (hopefully) join them next season! They aren't projected to make much noise this season, but maybe they can surprise people. If not, hopefully we can turn it around quickly. It's a good group of guys, helping me whenever I need it. I've been having fun talking NFL draft with them, even if my GM there is a Patriots fan... The locker room isn't quite as lively as the Ducks', but that's not a big deal, it's active enough. I'm excited about the Butchers.
5. I'm not sure if this is going to get me in trouble, but I'm actually not a fan of Klondike bars. I'll eat one if it's free, but I don't know if I've ever bought one with my own money. So to answer your question, I guess the worst thing I'd do for a Klondike bar, is take one from someone if they were handing it to me, and I might not even say thank you.
6. You know, when I was a kid, I honestly could not believe that it wasn't butter. I've grown and matured a lot since then, though. I think that, at this point in my life, I can say with certainty that I can believe that it's butter. It's kind of sad, in a way. Am I losing my child-like sense of wonder? Is this what it's like to grow up? I never thought that I'd feel so old at 24 years old. I need to go lie down.
7. Why am I? It seems that you were trying to provoke an existential crisis out of me, with this question. What you didn't anticipate, though, was that I would have one at the "Can you believe it's not butter" question. Why am I? I am, because billions and billions of years ago, for some unknown reason, the greatest explosion of all time happened and spread space dust throughout the universe that had just been created. Then that space dust balled up into big balls that we call planets, or if the balls of space dust became big enough, we call them stars. Then smaller clumps of space dust on the big balls of space dust started walking around and talking and thinking, and that's why I am, I suppose. Or at least one way of looking at why I am.

Who do you look up to in the league, like who’s your mentor?
This is your second season in the league, what are your goals and how have they changed from last year?
Who drafted you and what contact have you made with the team?
What are your long term plans in the NSFL?
1. I was browsing the r/NFL sub on reddit, and saw a post about a "simulation football league". I never new that these existed, but it sounded perfect for me. When I play Madden, my favorite thing to do is just build teams/progress players and simulate all the games. So this seemed like something that I would really enjoy. I touched on the reason for my return in my (first ever media piece. Basically, I didn't want to waste the Butchers' draft pick by being inactive. I also thought that it would cool if I was able to turn around and become a great player when nobody expected me to.
2. There are several guys that I kind of look up to in the league, but I think that HEOB from the Butchers is becoming sort of a mentor. He's been helping me with my build, and he's going to be the CB that I hopefully start across from in the future when I get called up. There are also several guys that I look up to in the Grey Ducks locker room, because of how helpful they've been. I elaborated on this more in a question up above.
3. Last year, I didn't know anything about the league because I was pretty inactive. This year, my main goal is the Ultimini. Some people think it doesn't matter, but I think it would be cool to have next to my name. It would also be a cool reminder of my first active season, with so many guys that I enjoy talking to in the Grey Ducks locker room. If I can have a good individual season along with that, even better.
4. I was drafted by the Chicago Butchers. I joined their locker room and talk with them occasionally. I've also been talking to Bayley the GM and HEOB quite a bit. I've been talking NFL draft with them a decent amount and it's been fun. It's been good getting to know all of them so far. Hopefully I can come help them out next season and be a difference maker.
5. I honestly have no idea. I think it would be cool to stick it out with one team, so I hope that I enjoy my time in Chicago. Other than that, I'm hoping that some Ultimus Trophies are waiting for me in the future!

What kind of bread do you like, White, wheat, multigrain?
Pancakes or waffles
Is pizza a sandwich?
Cupcakes muffins or brownies?
What color Gatorade do you prefer?
1. I don't know enough about the league to give a great answer on this, but I've been told that us Grey Ducks are supposed to be mad at London, and maybe Norfolk. I have no idea why, but I hate them.
2. I think I'm a multigrain guy. That's what I have in the kitchen right now. I definitely do not like white bread. It just gets stuck on the roof of my mouth when I eat it, ugh. For some reason I don't have this issue with other kinds of bread. But yeah, bread is kind of plain, and I think that multigrain just mixes it up a little bit, you know?
3. Waffles, 100%. However, I don't have a waffle iron, so I make pancakes much more often. Oh man, I haven't had breakfast or lunch yet and I'm really hungry. I'd kill for a waffle right now. It's been too long since I've had one, with the quarantine and all. That's one of the first things I'm getting when restaurants open back up. I need a good waffle in my life.
4. I think I gotta go cupcakes here. I'm a big brownie guy too, though. My girlfriend makes cupcakes occasionally and they're just so good. Yeah, I'm going cupcakes for sure. I'm going to have to ask her to make some for me this week. God I'm so hungry.
5. I prefer the "Frost" flavor. It reminds me of my grandma, who I miss very much since she passed when I was in high school. When I was a kid, she babysat me and my cousin while our parents worked, and she always had Frost Gatorade in the fridge. I like purple as well, but nothing comes close to Frost.
(04-24-2020, 08:42 PM)Muford Wrote:1. With the 11th round, the 126th Pick, you fell quite far. How do you plan to use that to your advantage?
2. Do you feel like you can be the biggest steal in the draft? Are you happy with your time thus far in Chicago?
3. What are your favorite things in Chicago so far, do you feel like you are helping with the new Chicago Culture?
4. What are some of your least favorite things so far in Chicago?
5. Chicago is in a rebuilding phase right now, are you okay with being apart of that? Do you see yourself coming up to the Big Leagues next season?
1. I don't think anyone, maybe even you, expected me to turn around as quickly as I have. I think that an 11th round pick probably doesn't have a lot of expectations, but I don't think that will necessarily be the case for me. I'm just going to try to keep progressing and try to help the Grey Ducks win, and get ready for a possible call up next season.
2. I think that I can definitely be the biggest steal in the draft with how far I fell. I haven't done much research, but I want to research the best 11th round NSFL picks of all time, because that's my goal. I want to be the greatest 11th round pick ever.
3. My favorite thing so far has been talking about the NFL draft with everyone. I love the draft so much, so it was good timing, since I could talk about it for hours haha. I'm not sure if I've exactly figured out what the culture is in Chicago yet, but I'm just trying to be active and friendly right now, which I don't think can hurt.
4. I don't think I've noticed anything that I dislike in Chicago yet. The only thing that I can think of to mention is that the locker room isn't quite as active as the Grey Ducks, but to be honest I think that can be a good thing. I love that there's always someone talking in the Grey Ducks discord, but it also kind of sucks when you log on and see "364 new messages since you last saw", so you just have to skip to the bottom. In Chicago, it's usually not a whole lot to catch up on, so I can read what people said to see if I missed anything, or just to see what the conversation is about.
5. I'm completely fine with a rebuilding phase. You can't win forever, you're going to have to rebuild or retool at some point, and I think that it's better to come into that when the rebuild is already in process, rather than come in right before it starts. I think that when we do start winning, it's going to make it even more satisfying. I hope that I'm able to come up to the big leagues next season. That's my goal, and I think that's what you guys were hoping for as well. If I keep progressing, I think that I can be ready for it.
Thanks for the questions everyone!
