I sat on the sidelines, partially with regret, partially with sadness, and partially with joy. I could've just transferred to Ohio and won a national championship, my draft stock would sky rocket, I could make millions.
At the same time if I did that I would lose my friends, my teammates, and my girl friend. I would lose the comfort I had in Mankato, in a D2 school. Ohio is another animal to conquer and who knew if I would be ready.
I gave everything on the field and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat if it meant my life could stay the same. You can try your hardest and sometimes you won't win but what matters is you keep trying.
Conflicted is the word I would use to describe myself at the beginning of the season, I had the opportunity to move on but something prevented me. I could always make new friends, I'd have new teammates, I could get a new girl friend. Something prevented me from doing so though.
Loyalty, that's why, I've always been a loyal guy. I stick by my team no matter the score and I don't plan on changing that anytime soon.
Now I have to move on and there isn't anything I can do about it, having a game like my last one won't come easy in the DSFL, might even be a few years, but I'm ready for the challenge. I've switched positions 3 times in my career, a challenge is what suits me best. I've got some weight to lose, some strength to gain, and some film to study. To any team that needs a shut down corner, you know where you'll find me.
