A member of HO clearly abused power with their voting. Now HO must decide how to handle it.

Let's not lose sight of that in the midst of participating in the other fun activities that always come along in a "somebody fucked up" thread.

I would be curious to see if this has been the norm for hippo in the past.

I understand a lot of this, and I think much of it is fair, I just disagree with a few main points.

Again, like ive said, GMs having equal opportunity to be shitty does not mean all of them are each shitty. GMs can still swing a vote in their favor, and have, because most GMs arent super biased. I believe its flawed reasoning to go into it thinking its fair because everyone has an equal chance to do wrong, and in my previous posts I was pointing out just a few of the many times this was not the case. I agree that bias is unavoidable, but I dont think this proposal is any more fair just because its equal representation.

I gotta disagree with you here. HO is supposed to be unbiased. When someone does what hippo did and shows that to be a farce, the problem becomes obvious, and that is that HO does not have equal representation.

I don’t think the answer is to give each team a seat at the table because then we introduce equal bias once again, but the first step is to get people who won’t abuse their power in there, and potentially that means limiting HO to one representative per team in order to limit the potential damage caused by a situation like this.

I'm new, so forgive me if it used to be this way and changed, but is there a reason HO gets individual votes? Could they be treated a collective entity of HO which would require discussion among HO members before they cast a vote?

No one addressed this, but it seems like a solid idea. Would be interested if this has been discussed before.

Alternatively, I would think HO (or another entity, but dear god we are getting a lot of those) could check to make sure someone doesn't vote chalk for their team no matter what.

One thing is certain, we got to hand it to hippo, he certainly knew his votes would create a shitstorm but the madman still did it!

Luckily..near as I can figure from going line by line....the damage basically equates to 2 tied awards because he left one person completely off his ballot each time....and denying Saba status as unanimous WR of the Year (and also leaving him off the ballot).

At the end, if Ho sees a biased vote once voting is done, then just delete it, and carry on.
