I've decided that every 3 episodes, I'll post a copy of the outlines that I write before I record because I'm a shameless money whore I want everyone to be able to enjoy my work! “27 points at home should be enough to win, a 10 point lead halfway through the 3rd quarter should be enough to win, holding a 7 point lead with the ball on your opponents 4 yard line on 1st and goal should be enough to win, we should be talking about an Austin victory right now, but we’re not because of untimely turnovers and a defense that should hold few excuses for their performance. Here’s the sad part, of the 30 points Philly scored, only 10 of those came off of turnovers. There were 20 points given up entirely on the fault of the defense, against a squad that should be easy pickings for any D, especially one playing at home. But I don’t want to just talk about Austin’s failures, Philly deserves their share of credit too. While they didn’t exactly rack up the yards, they stayed with Austin all game until they were able to exploit one fatal mistake that cost the Copperheads everything. Sometimes it’s easy to forget that whenever a team turns the ball over, or makes a mistake, somebody on the other squad had to force that error to happen, and that’s where the Liberty shined, forcing errors. On Austins 3 goal-to-go situations they faced, they only got 1 TD. The other attempts ended in a field goal and a pick. When Philly had a chance to stand tall they did so twice denying what should have been TD’s. Philly deserves as much credit for this win as the amount of blame Austin will get for this loss.”
Takeaways:
Austin:
Despite fewer TD’s, Zoe Watts had a much better week
Easton Cole on early MVP watch
Defense a massive letdown

Brandon Brooker turned the tide

Yeti @ Butchers
Winner-Butchers
“This game showed exactly why it was so worrisome for Colorado when their offense got off to such a sluggish start last week. After scoring only 3 points in a half against the Sailfish, the Yeti only scrape together 6 in the entire game vs the Butchers. In the time it took me to say those words I’m pretty sure the Yeti fumbled the ball about 3 more times. Speaking of fumbles, the Yeti turnovers were both a product of fatal errors and unfathomably bad luck. The Yeti fumbled the ball 3 times, and lost that fumble every single time. Most teams fumble at least once a week, but many aren’t significant because they get recovered by the offense. In this case however the Yeti incredibly managed to lose every single fumble they created. Speaking of bad luck, every single fumble occurred on what should have been a huge gain.
Fumble #1: After a 20 yard carry by McDummy with 3 minutes to go in the 1st.
Fumble #2: On a run play immediately following a William Lim 40 yard completion with 2:45 left in the 3rd
Fumble #3: On a 46 yard completion to Dave Bautista with no time left in the 3rd
It would seem improbable that such a mistake could repeat itself so often in such a manor, but time and time again the Yeti shot themselves in the foot in game-changing moments. For Chicago, they should be grateful to pick up such a win. 17 points at home is nothing to brag about, but it got the job done. The running game was slightly improved over the previous week but nowhere near where they’d want it, and the pass game struggled until late in the 4th. Overall, neither team is going to want to look back on this game come the end of the year but a win is a win, and an important one at that.”
Takeaways:
Yeti:
Run game needs to get going. Now
Protect. Your. QB.
Defense shares none of the blame
Butchers:
Can’t rely on that many turnovers again
Run D was dominant
Keep the pass rush going

Second Line @ Hahalua
Winner- Hahalua 55-27
“Well, OK then. I didn’t realize the hahalua had this type of a game in them, and against the Second Line no less! Luke Skywalker looked a lot more like ROTJ Luke than ANH Luke, and I guess the Second Line are Jabba The Hutt getting choked by Leia. Bad analogies aside even though I predicted a Honolulu win I hadn’t even began to dream of such a collapse on the part of the Second Line. Incredibly the score, which i remind you was 55-27, wasn’t even as close as it looked. 17 points scored by NOLA happened in the 4th quarter, way after the game had already been decided. 7 total TD’s are by far the most scored in one game by any team in both this year and the last. What’s really interesting is that no one receiver was extremely dominant, each of Skywalker’s 4 TD passes went to a different receiver. NOLA’s team failed at every turn on Offense, defense, and special teams, and nothing else needs to be said.”
Takeaways:
Second Line:
Slothlisberger continues to struggle
Early turnovers killed any shot
A total team loss
Hahalua:
Skywalker Tore up NOLA
Maika’i performance of the year
Defensive domination
Notable Players:

Otters @ Silverbacks
Winner- Otters 31-27
GAME OF THE WEEK
“Boy oh boy is there quite a lot to talk about here! Early on it looked like we might have the biggest upset possible in league history when New York took a 14-3 lead late in the 1st quarter. Then Korin Abernathy returned the following kickoff 96 yards easily allowing OCO’s dead offense a spark and suddenly we had a game! Three straight 3-and-outs by New York followed by 3 straight TD drives from Orange County made the game look a lot closer to how most people expected, but then incredibly Sam Howitzer led New York downfield for a TD to pull the game within 3. Halftime hits and both teams get a crack at scoring but fail, then the Silverbacks manage to go down and get a game-tying field goal midway through the 3rd. Another field goal by New York put them up 3 and with them driving with only 6 minutes left it seemed all was lost for OCO, but their defense scraped together one last stop and Sulemen Ramza put together the drive of his life ending with a 24 yard TD pass to Tatsu Nakamura.”
Takeaways:
Otters:
When will they put together a complete game?
Offense finally shows life
Defense has no excuse
Silverbacks:
Time to get excited about Howitzer-real excited
You weren’t supposed to compete in this game
Just let development take its course
Notable Players:
Otters:
OFF:
Sulemen Ramza-285 Yds, 2 TDs, 115.7 QBR
Tatsu Nakamura-13 Car, 39 Yds, 2 TDs, 2 Rec, 30 Yds, 1 TD

Jordan Andrews-4 TCK, 2 PDs
Outlaws @ Sabercats
Winner- Sabercats 27-19
“What an absolute mess of a game on both sides, a combined 4 turnovers with 3 total fumbles, all recovered by their respective teams. 9 Sacks and every point coming at an absolute premium. As a personal fan of defense I actually found this game quite entertaining. Though if you’re more a fan of Rams-Chiefs style games, it was probably more an exercise in torture to watch. For the Sabercats, while I found their offense slow and uninspired their defense was actually quite impressive, and Rashad Hilliard deserves a shoutout for continuing his ball-hawk ways from Minnesota. For Arizona Jay Cue continued to struggle but what I really want to see is how they play at home, their first two games this season have been road games where many teams will struggle, no matter the opponent. If the Outlaws start to drop home games, then it’s officially time to worry about the Outlaws.”
Takeaways:
Outlaws:
Defense can only hold for so long
Thomas Passman stepped up
Might need to give your run game a shot
Sabercats:
Offense looked better than they did
Defense played fantastic
Keep leaning on Lackson
Notable Players:
Outlaws:
OFF:

Tyron Brackinridge-7 TCK, 2 SCK, 1 PD, 1 INT
Fire Salamanders @ Sailfish
Winner- Sailfish 10-6
“Speaking completely honestly, I don’t want to spend too much time talking about this game because it’s probably the most boring game this week, and I don’t remember too much of what happened in it. Neither team looked good but at least the Fire Salamanders had the excuse of playing on the road. What the hell is up with this Sailfish offense? Banks looks bad, the entire passing game is out of sorts, and they have yet to break 100 yards rushing as a team. I excused their struggles last week because they played the Yeti in Colorado but what’s the reasoning now? You’re facing an expansion team at home and all you can put up is 10 points? And your only TD is off of a punt return! So really all you scored was 3 points! At home! Against the BERLIN FIRE SALAMANDERS! You have put up only 1 TD in 2 weeks! I wanted to say that because you won and Colorado lost that you guys are my new #1 but I can’t! You barely stayed at 2! For Berlin, you didn’t look good, but at least you have excuses for it. I still say give Petrongolo the rock and get yourself a new QB as soon as possible.”
Takeaways:
Fire Salamanders:
Need a new QB
Lean on Petrongolo
Defense looks good
Sailfish:
GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER
Notable Players:
Fire Salamanders:
OFF:
Danny King-17 car, 73 Yds, 4.3 YPC

Sailfish:
OFF:

DEF:
Son Goku-8 TCK, 2 TFL
Cuco Clemente-4 TCK, 1 PD, 1 INT
Hawks @ Wraiths
Winner- Wraiths 23-6
“And finally we have the Hawks vs the Wraiths, probably the only game this week to go exactly as everyone expected. The Hawks looked flat, and the Wraiths did more than enough to win. This kind of performance probably won’t be enough against most teams, but it does just fine vs Baltimore. For Baltimore, nobody gave them much of a chance on the road vs Yellowknife and seemingly for good reason. Chiki threw for over 300 yards but it’s a rather empty stat when you score a total of 6 points and no touchdowns. On the bright side, Doug Howlett still looked good.

Drop your QB
Get a return man

Now

Defense shares none of the blame

Takeaways:

Slothlisberger continues to struggle
Early turnovers killed any shot
