Hello ISFL!!
Whilst the regular season is only just about to start, it is already time to look ahead to the off-season with the introduction of the World Football Championship coming this coming Off-season. Now we know where its being hosted, Reykjavik Iceland (click here to see why), its time to start working out how each team will look. As said in the original announcement of this event, the competition and events department will be hosting competitions over the season to have user submitted logos be chosen to represent each region, as well as the field that all games will take place on, popping up on a weekly basis all throughout the regular season.
Each competition will last a week before the judges of the competition department, along with Bayley as federation head and Blassoon as head location scout, discuss and decide on the winning submission.
This first week, will see the regions of Western United States (WUS) and Canada (CAN)have their logos created. The deadline for this competition will be 11:59PM EST on Sunday the 26th of July. They can be submitted to their appropriate forum within the competition forum, or DM’d to myself or @sapp2013 (who will be running point for this throughout the season) for posting to the forum.
The guideline to follow for these logos are as follows:
- No branding: The logos/team are to be only known by their name (e.g. Canada) so there is no need to come up with a brand (e.g. Canada Moose) .
- Initials included: The initials for the region must be in the submitted logo. (CAN and WUS)
- Incorporating regional flavour: Submissions that represent their region (e.g. Maple leaf in Canada region logo) earn bonus points towards winning.
- Flexible colour scheme: As more logos for regions are submitted, some may be asked to change colours to keep them all different. It is not a requirement to submit logos that are a different colour to all the previous winners, but it may help the judges visualise the final product.
Below is a very simple example of what we are after.
