Speaking at a hastily-called press conference, New Orleans Strong Safety Will H Harrison flatly denied the rumors that his contract extension had been voided and that he was an unrestricted free agent.
“I don’t know who started this, but it has no basis in reality. I signed a two-year extension early this season. Negotiations were fast and amicable. I couldn’t be happier than I am here in New Orleans, and I have no interest in leaving. I have every intention of making another Ultimus push with this team, and that’s just for season eleven.”
When asked whether he would consider another team if his contract were voided, Harrison became visibly irate.
“My contract has not been voided, so that question is moot. But, I am on very good terms with management, and I would not hang them out to dry, and I don’t expect they would do that to me, either. I am in New Orleans for the next two seasons, minimum, and I want to put this free agency talk to bed, right now.”
When Asked for comment, New Orleans GM Bayley replied:
“When we looked at our defense, one of the key pieces on this team was none other than William Harrison. You look at what he did and the stats only cover some of what he did. He had 2 Sacks, 5 INT, and 6 Pass deflections. I mean, this guy is turning into quite the leader on our defense. That is why we needed to lock him up and keep him here. I am excited to see where this guy progresses, he has a ton of potential.”
