[div align=\\\"center\\\"]S15 NSFL Draft Recap/Grades of the ASFC [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]by Robbie Fuel[/div]
Presenting a full break down of the entire draft with draft grades for every team. The teams have been split by Conference and organized alphabetically. I’m not aware of any official announcement yet, but have included Austin with the ASFC and Chicago with the NSFC. For each team you will find a list of Pre Draft Needs, List of Draftees, and my Assessment of how well the team did.
The Needs
The list of Needs for each team was compiled using the incredible resources that were published by three “Experts” before the draft. Our Experts are @[nickyvmlp], @[Vander Jones], and @[terriblehippo]. You can check their pre draft thoughts via these links:
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]“NickyV’s Big Boards” (Offense) and (Defense) [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Vander Jones’ “S15 Mock Draft”[/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]terriblehippo’s Examination of NSFL Needs I & II [/div]
If at least two of the three Experts mentioned a position, it has been included here. If all three writers mentioned a position it has been bolded.
The Draftees
Each Draftee has multiple bits of info attached to them. For each team, Draftees have been listed in order they were drafted. The Prospect Bowl Team and DSFL Team the Draftee played for. If the Player was created after the Prospect Bowl you will see a dash instead. Additionally for each Draftee their TPE going into Ultimus week and their TPE post Draft night is listed. TPE was gathered using @[Eco]’s TPE Tracker. All post Draft TPE was gathered May 5th at 1pm EST. Please don't yell at me.

The Assessment
This is my own personal grade. I base this off each teams total number of picks, their number of picks in the Top 50 of the draft, how they filled their Needs, and if the team drafted starters or potential send downs. There were 118 players drafted. If all ten teams drafted an equal number of players, each team would have drafted 11 or 12 players. Each team would have 5 draftees from the Top 50. So keep in mind that if a team has more than 12 or 5 they got more than their fair share. If a team has less than 11 or 5 they got less than their fair share.

I think strictly looking at the number of draftees taken, the Arizona Outlaws crushed this draft. They are tied with Liberty for most draftees from this class, and they got 7 of the Top 50, that is two more from the Top 50 than any other team. Additionally they really filled in all four of their mentioned Needs. Trading for Martavius Mack when they did was great choice.
Draftees that could be instant starters include Brock Landers, Jammerson Irving, Ricardo Morris, Lamont McKinnie and Lucas Knight. That is really good stuff to be able to potentially start 5 of your Draftees, but it also says a lot about the TPE level of their current roster. I doubt Arizona has any illusions about the state of this team, there are still a lot of holes. They could very well decide to send down most of their top draftees in attempt to get the top picks of next year’s draft too. Then come back in S16 after the expansion draft with a solidly built team.
Arizona Draft Grade: A This is a good foundation draft, but they still need to capitalize on the expansion draft to be competitive.

This is a very intriguing draft by the Austin GM’s, while none of the picks were very splashy or sexy like Arizona taking Brock Landers Number One Overall All or New Orleans taking both Bode and Slothface, Austin did well. Their offense positions are looking complete with the rookies that they got here. They also used their late round dart throws to fill their defense line, leaving the more important defense positions to be filled in the expansion draft. The real question marks here are the two OL picks in Edmond Beaver-Dantes and Rahm Kota. It seems no one is really sure what the impact of human Offensive Line players will be in the current Meta of OL-Bots. I say this is a very risky move for an expansion team to make. Additionally they ended up trading away Martavius Mack, whom they drafted in the 4th round.
Austin Draft Grade: C+ I’m not excited about an expansion team taking the risk of testing out the viability of OL Players in the current Meta.

I am very confused about what New Orleans did in this draft. Coming out in the first round making a big splash by taking both the #1 and #2 Linebackers in this class is exciting. However they only managed to fill one of their two other Needs they had, completely ignoring perhaps the most important one - QB. After Slothface and Bode, I actually think Deon Taylor is a better FIT than Forrest Gump for this team. Not to take away from Gump, he deserved to be taken even earlier than he did. Taylor should be an immediate starter at Cornerback for New Orleans, while Gump might not be. I understand that Gump was the best player available and @[JuOSu] really liked him, but I think missing on a second and a third opportunity to take Franklin Armstrong is a huge miss.
New Orleans grade: B The entire league should be scared of the two headed nightmare Slothface and Bode could turn into.
*Other QB needy teams could have taken Franklin too, New Orleans just happens to be the first in our list. While not mentioned, other team grades were decreased too for not drafting Franklin when they could have.

Orange County entered the draft with very few true needs. As such it seems like they simply went best player available. While OCO only drafted one of their position Needs, I think they secured the future of the team in Franklin Armstrong. He is truly a steal at round 3 pick 8. The one draft Need they did addressed is Kicker. They should be excited about getting Alex Dasistwirklichseinnachname. No doubt this guy can make a few game winning field goals.

Of course San Jose won the draft. They got Gimmy J!! In all seriousness now. They nailed their top three picks filling needs at WR and TE with RESPECT, Olsen and Dan Wright; those media posts probably bumped his stock up, lookout for Joliet L Christ favoritism in future MVP articles. Both Tight Ends should be instant starters, as well as RESPECT.
San Jose draft grade: A They added three instant starting weapons for their MVP calibur QB to use.
