Things have shifted and now we're going to see how the S.O.A.R. rankings stand with all these new changes. If you're writing a mock draft, put me in your top 10, conversations with multiple GMs have me believing I will be gone by the time the 2nd round comes about. but that is not why you are here. You are here because you believe that I write great rankings and you want to see how it is going. This will indicate how many points they have, how many ranking spaces they moved and how many points that have been gained since the last SOAR ranking.
Again, I will play anywhere.
Ok so let's start with where we left off, S.O.A.R. 1.0 which can be found here So how have things changed? Teams have, for the most part, gained points, not lost.
1.
Liberty - 16 points +6 spots, +10 points.
Credit to the GM that interviewed me, that was a good conversation, giving them a major boost in the rankings. It was a great interview.
2.
Second Line - 15 points +7 spots, +10 points.
It is truly amazing what great interviews can do. Yes both NOLA and Philly started with a template but the conversation grew from there, and honestly it was a great interview which helped these two teams really SOAR. Neat fact, NOLA has never made the ultimus game without tlk on their roster.
3.
Copperheads - 12 points -2 spots, 0 points.
The Austin Copperheads have had me in their locker room for a while so might be why their interview is non-existant but scored because they've been talking with me about the draft. I don't know, some might say it is a cop-out but there you have it. They haven't changed anything from the first SOAR ranking, which means other teams have passed them.
4.
Wraiths - 11 points + 3 spots, +5 points
Ah yes, the original team that drafted me. I never bring it up. I know. Anyways, Yellowknife and I had a good, albeit brief talk, but scouting is tough and with a lot of people to interview you want to make sure you're getting to everyone. No hard feelings
5.
Outlaws - 9 points -3 spots, 0 points.
Outlaws were the only other team to talk to me pre-ultimus, which makes me really happy about them and the direction. Of course, the unoriginal logo is really what is killing their SOAR ranking.
6.
Butchers - 7 points -2 spots, 0 points.
I cannot fault the butchers and thought about scoring them for an interview even though it never happened. But with no draft pick to speak of, interviewing someone who will not be available to be taken is an exercise in futility, so I cannot fault them for the situation they are in causing what is their score. Which means everyone below...
7.
Yeti - 7 points -3 spots, 0 points.
To quote Will Smith "Why doesn't he want me?". Seriously, the Yeti have not interviewed me, a huge factor in the SOAR rating and I'm wondering, do the yeti not reach out because they do not want me? I'd play for them if drafted, but my broken heart...Had they no draft picks, they would be tied with the Butchers, but they do, and it hurts.
8.
Sabercats - 6 points -4 spots, 0 points
Maybe CK isn't doing the scouting, but I don't know, I feel like scouting is a big part of drafting. Or they know what they get when they get me...oh yeah I have a chip on my shoulder and I will be calling out the best DSFL DE this past season after these rankings.
9.
Hawks - 5 points 0 spots, 0 points
GM shifts are tough, especially in the draft season. So with the team not reaching out, I get it, but still expect better from the NSFC team home of the legendary Carmel Gibson.
10.
Otters - -1 points 0 spots, -1 points
No interview, but the additional Ultimus victory has thus cost them a point in my SOAR ranking. I cannot fault them for winning, but I want to challenge the status quo, not perpetuate it.
Ok so the best DE in this draft? Bobby Boucher. I like Ide, but man Boucher has been just tearing it up, so congrats @BigUnitBabs my PBE buddy, I'm calling out as my rival and much like Chess, I will strive to outperform you in a class where people predicted that my position was super deep (it was).
Again, I will play anywhere.
