Hello Nurse! So in this article I'm going to be combing through the record books and telling you who is about to cement their legacy in the league in a variety of ways. I'm gonna focus on what is feasible to accomplish in S22 for the various players so you won't see any nonsense like "if x QB throws for 46 TDs then blah blah blah". I'm gonna try to be realistic and maybe a tad conservative about it. Some of these will be all-time lists, others might be position specific, and obviously in some cases that's the same thing. I'm going to primarily focus on top 10s. Position by position records could come later or hell..go do them yourself. And make sure you contact Dermot about wiki work when you do the research.
Okay? Here we go.
PASSING YARDS
Cooter Bigsby is currently 9th all time in passing yards with 27, 507 and with a 3k season would move up to 4th. He'd need 3100 and change to move to 3rd.
PASSING TOUCHDOWNS
Cooter Bigsby's 185 TDs makes him 7th alltime. That's 22 away form taking over 4th all time.
Corvo Havran has 152 TDs, good for 10th all time. 17 TDs would move him to 8th.
INTERCEPTIONS
Bigsby's 86 interceptions currently ranks 10th all time Easton Cole is 13th at 81. 5th all time is 95 interceptions so both are potentially in range of moving up the list they probably don't want to be on.
TOUCHDOWN %
Havran's 5.3 and Franklin Armstrong's 5.2 sit at 4th and 5th all time. With both being at the peak of their prowess, they could challenge all three spots above them, which top at 5.6%.
RUSHING YARDS
We have a densely packed group here. Forrest Gump, Apollo Reed, and Sam Torenson are ranked 7-9 and separated by about 200 yards (6500-6700). They will all pass the current 6th place by week 3. 5th place all time is Darren Smallwood's 7823, which would require 100 for Gump and 1300 for Torenson.
Mako Mendonca is in 14th place currently but needs less than 850 to surpass the current 10th place.
RUSHING TOUCHDOWNS
Here we have Reed and Gump tied for 7th with 54. 5th al time is 60 and both will reach that with ease.
Torenson is 11th with 46. He could very well pass the current 6th place mark of 56 but will likely be 8th after the other two also pass it.
RECEPTIONS
James Bishop is 20th all time with 611. 10th all time is Charlie Law Sr.'s 670. He's got a shot to get there this season. 20+ extra games will give you that opportunity.
RECEIVING YARDS
Bishop and Errol Maddox both have 10,200 yards and change. 600 yards would see them both pass the current 9th place. 700 and chance would put the current 8th place in their path.
RECEIVING TOUCHDOWNS
Maddox is in 3rd for now and unable to pass 2nd place this season. Bishop's 64 TDs make him 12th all time and getting 6 to get to 70 would tie him for 10th. An amazing seasons of 11 TDs for 75 total would get him to a tie for 6th.
INTERCEPTIONS
Lennox Garnett is currently 4th all time at 37 and 3rd is 42. Very doable.
10th all time is currently 32 Interceptions. Dan Schneider (28), Alex Hornbacher (27), Xandra Troyski (26), and Grithead (26) all are within striking distance.
TACKLES
Danny Grithead is currently 2nd all time with 1,149. Alex Selich is right on his heels with 1,147 (and is a season younger). The record they're chasing is 1,235. Both could surpass it this season.
Raymond Vans is 10th all time with 1,013 the current 5th place only has 1,047 so this should be a slam dunk for Vans. On the longer scope, Vans is 2 seasons younger than Selich and 3 younger than Grithead so the overall record is very viable. And he did it without forcing teams to put him in position for it, too.
TACKLES FOR LOSS
Nero Alexander has 70 of these badboys, leaving him tied for 10th all time. 83 is 3rd all time and is very doable. He's gonna rocket up the list no matter what.
SACKS
Thorian Skarsgard and his 92 sacks currently sit 7th all time. 8 sacks would get him into the exclusive 100 Club I just made up and put him at 5th all time.
Grithead has 80 and is 10th. Getting to 86 would ti him for 8th.
Raymond Vans (75), Grayson Kuusella (74), and Freezer Riposte (70) would need to get to 81 in order to tie for the 10th (after Grithead passes it of course).
FORCED FUMBLES
Selich's 19 forced fumbles rank 1st all time so he's just cruising at this point.
Vans and Grithead are tied at 5th with 14. Every fumble raises them a rank.
Logan Lejune is tied for 9th with 11 and he along with Mo Berry (10) and Quentin Bode (10) all have a chance to move up the board.
DEFENSIVE TOUCHDOWNS
Grithead has 7, good for 4th all time currently. Each one he gets moves him up with 10 tying 1st.
Garnett is tied with a lot of people for 8th with 7 touchdowns. The 4 TD club can sort yourselves the fuck out before I talk about you.
PASSES DEFENDED
Grithead is 4th all time with 174. Just 2 more would make him 3rd and 13 would move him into a tie for 2nd.
There's a giant mess after that as Hornbacher (165), Snuggles (155), Schneider (153) rank 8, 9, and 10. Troyski (150) and Beau Montgomery (146) are both in striking distance. Deon Taylor (130) won't get there this year but he's also played 2 full seasons less than anyone else so he's coming.
SAFETIES
Danny Grithead is 2nd all time with 3. One more will tie him for 1st.
There are 7 active people with 2, which ties them all for 7th.
There you go. I'm leaving special teams the hell alone and ya'll now have a bunch of stuff to argue over.
Okay? Here we go.
