On Wednesday, April 22nd, Joseph Petrongolo was drafted 37th overall to the Portland Pythons, far lower than he had hoped. When asked about this he said "This isn't where I'd like to be but I'm going to work hard for my team and do whatever I can to help the team to a positive season, and hopefully an Ultimini victory". Well apparently, GMs and coaches heard this and took it to heart, because after practice Thursday, Petrongolo's first practice with his new team, he was called into his GM's office and told to undergo a position switch. Apparently the coaches saw something in the film room, because he was asked to switch his position to running back by high ranking members of the organization. I don't know what they see in him though, because there isn't much on tape of him running the ball, probably due to the fact that he hasn't carried the ball since he was in high school, but maybe he'll be good at running back. Ony the future will tell if this position switch by Joseph Petrongolo will be a positive thing for the team, who had an eight and six record, and are looking to improve on that. One thing is for sure, that we will see Petrongolo on the field soon, probably in the upcoming preseason games scheduled for Tuesday, April 28th. We wish him a long and illustrious career and hopefully early success with the Pythons.
