Agent Tesla: Hello and good time appropriate greeting to you dear viewer! I am here today to go over some highlights from the New Orleans Second Line's game against the Austin Copperheads from week twelve, and perhaps talk a bit more about the game in general depending on the mood at the end. Now I would usually be joined by my client Magnus Rikiya of the New Orleans Second Line to go over these highlights, however I have a statement from him here that will explain their absence.
Agent Tesla quoting Magnus Rikiya's letter: This was the second worst game in my professional career and I am not emotionally ready to relive it right now. So after discussing it with my agent we both agreed that it would be best that they find a different partner for this highlight article. I will be back to participate in the jersey swap segment though as it is someone I am happy to have gotten to swap jerseys with even if I am not happy about the game as a whole. Thank you for your understanding.
Agent Tesla: There is no shame in needing to take time away to recover and we do not fault Magnus for not being ready to relive this game so soon after it. I am sure that the coaches are giving him a hard enough time for his performance as it stands. That said since I have always had a partner for these articles I called up my other client to join us for today, and so everyone give a warm welcome to Molly Mitchell starting pitcher for the State College Swift Steeds of the Minor League Pro Baseball Experience!
Molly Mitchell: Thank you! Happy to be here and to help out a fellow client of my amazing agent.
Agent Tesla: Now tell me Molly, how much do you know about gridiron football? Do you follow any of the National Simulation Football League teams, or maybe one of the Developmental Simulation Football League teams?
Molly Mitchell: I know enough to follow a game as a casual fan I guess? Your guide on things taught me a fair amount more than I already knew though. My family is in Washington and despite a few expansion attempts there we do not currently have a local team to support. Technically the Baltimore Hawks would have to be my answer though since my Mom's favorite player is Errol Maddox and my Dad's is Corvo Havran. We always had them on during the season so I got to see most of their games. Not really the sport I follow personally though.
Agent Tesla: Fully understandable. Now normally Magnus would handle the first play, but given this is your first time helping out like this I will take it to get us started. Four minutes into the game and New Orleans has a first and ten on their own ten yard line. Stan Francisco drops back to pass with six blockers in front of him, but Austin rushed seven which left one unaccounted for by the blockers. He had to fight through the bodies in front of him to get to his target though and so credit where it is due to Holden Summers for getting the seven yard sack against New Orleans on their first play from scrimmage. After getting a field goal on their first drive that was a powerful display to start off this dominant performance by the Austin Copperheads.
Molly Mitchell: It was a bit hard to follow, but good job Holden Summers for pushing New Orleans back against the wall with that play. The next highlight is a second and seven on the New Orleans forty-five yard line for the Austin Copperheads. Easton Cole finds Net Gaines who gets hit immediately, and then hit again a few yards later. Net Gaines carries on though despite the two defenders for about ten more yards before they bring him down at the end of a twenty-two yard reception. A strong fellow that Net Gaines I guess.
Agent Tesla: Quite strong indeed and a good demonstration of that strength on that play. Three consecutive highlights for Austin with this next one coming on a New Orleans play on a third and four on the Austin twenty-five yard line. A running play to the right that saw the runner encounter Awkward Sexjoke who jarred the ball loose and scooped it up for a seven yard return for the Copperheads. A great job by them there to take what should have been a scoring drive for New Orleans and turn it into a drive for Austin.
Molly Mitchell: Takeaways are always highlight worthy and especially when someone manages a return I would think. Four highlights in the first quarter and all of them come for the Austin Copperheads. New Orleans ball with a third and ten on the Austin forty-two yard line when Dermot Lavelle Jr intercepts the pass. I think what happened here is Dermot managed to hide behind the receiver so Stan did not see the receiver was covered, and then made the play to get the interception. That is what it looked like to me watching the play back at least.
Agent Tesla: That is what it looked like to me as well and so it was a great job by Dermot there to get the takeaway. Not a common occurrence for him from my understanding, however given his skill it is an occurrence that I am not surprised to see happen here. The Austin streak of highlights ends here as they face a first and ten on their own forty-seven yard line just about a minute into the second quarter. Easton Cole drops back to pass and throws to a double covered receiver only to be picked off by Mason Blaylock who gets first down yardage with a thirteen yard return to put New Orleans in good position.
Molly Mitchell: Magnus told me to mention here that safety is your favorite position and so this was an especially good play for you to cover. Also he and I agree that it was a good job by Blaylock here. The next play is another by the New Orleans Second Line as they had a highlight on their first and ten from their own thirty-two yard line four minutes into the second quarter. Stan Francisco finds Austin McCormick who is hit immediately, but proceeds to drag the defender forty-five yards before another defender gets there to finish the play. Also shout out to Rainier Wolfcastle here for managing to make a block that helped Austin about the midpoint of the play.
Agent Tesla: Great job there by McCormick as is expected of them, and good job recapping it Molly. The next highlight is on third and two for New Orleans on the Austin four yard line. Offensive line slides to their right, but so does Troen Egghands who manages to get free because of it. Those of you who do not know the defensive right side is the pass rush side and so whoever told the New Orleans offensive line here what to do does not know football. Troen was unblocked and got to Stan before he even had a chance for a ten yard sack that forced a field goal attempt.
Molly Mitchell: I know you are supposed to protect the blindside and I didn't even know that was a thing until today. Sorry New Orleans, but good job there Troen! The next highlight comes with just about four minutes left in the second quarter on the ensuing drive on a second and six for Austin on the New Orleans seventeen yard line. Easton Cole finds Mako Mendonca who drags a defender a few extra yards after contact to get a seventeen yard touchdown reception.
Agent Tesla: Powerful play by Mako there to get into the end zone with a defender hanging off of them. Almost exactly a minute later New Orleans faces a third and fifteen on their own nineteen yard line when Stan Francisco drops back to pass. Stan has to buy time by running around the backfield for what felt like an hour before he manages to find Forrest Gump open outside the numbers. Gump makes the reception just inside the field of play and sprints up field en route to a thrilling thirty-four yard reception before the defense drops him. Great play for Stan and Forrest here.
Molly Mitchell: Forrest was really close to going out of bounds here and so kudos to him for keeping it in the field of play. Just after the two minute warning New Orleans has the ball on Austin's forty-two yard line, and are facing a second and five when Stan Francisco drops back to pass. Stan finds his target and rockets it for them, but does not notice Takeda Okura, nice name, who manages to catch it in stride going the other way. Takeda runs it back forty-nine yards before a member of the offense is able to catch up and stop them. Great job there Takeda taking it back!
Agent Tesla: I must agree it was quite the interception by Takeda Okura and credit to them for ruining another drive by the New Orleans Second Line. This next play is technically meaningless, but we talk about all the highlights here even those that do not matter at the end of the day. New Orleans ball with seven seconds left in the half facing a first and ten on the Austin forty-nine yard line after a good return by Forrest Gump. Stan Francisco drops back to pass only to have the offensive line crumble at the hands of Riles McTackle who lives up to his name by getting the six yard sack to end the half here. I am reminded of why my client did not want to relive this game watching this one.
Molly Mitchell. Good job Riles. Um, do you want to take a break here since it is the end of the half? Do you need to take a breather?
Agent Tesla: Honestly I probably should take a break here and per your suggestion I am going to do just that. Feel free to keep the people entertained until I get back, but I am going to go have some chocolate.
Molly Mitchell: Alright. Hello everyone! I am Molly Mitchell of the State College Swift Steeds as Agent Tesla said earlier. Oh, I was also drafted by the Detroit Demons of the Pro Baseball Experience with the second overall selection in the most recent draft going by my timeline. It is September 2034 where I am, but it is December 2037 in the National Simulation Football League universe from my understanding. When I asked Tesla about that they said something about having killed the Time Lord to gain their powers before taking out Orlouge and that we would be fine. Did not make sense to me. Lots about them does not make sense to me though.
Thanks for sticking with us through this little intermission as I am sure Tesla will be back soon. Sorry I don't really have any good stories to share to fill this space. Actually I can share that my last game went much better for me than Magnus' did as I pitched seven innings without giving up a single run! My good friend upstaged me by going nine innings without giving up a single run the same day too which just made it better. So happy that we will be on a team together some day and that they managed to pitch a complete shutout like that. Close enough to a perfect game that I would be on cloud nine for weeks after a performance like that. Might just be on cloud nine from our performances anyway. Always love to see a friend do well you know?
Agent Tesla: I wholly agree!
Molly Mitchell: Welcome back! I hope you didn't listen to me ramble for too long.
Agent Tesla: It was a lovely story Molly and I was happy to hear it. Now onto our first highlight of the second half! About three minutes into the second half and Austin has a first and ten on their own twenty yard line. Easton Cole drops back to pass and finds a wide open Rod Tidwell who only has one defender to outrun to go the distance. Tidwell makes it a monstrous fifty yards down field before the defender catches up to put a stop to it. This offense is just unstoppable when it gets going and credit here to another great play by them.
Molly Mitchell: Tidwell is really fast and so good job on them making use of that talent. Our next highlight came on the next official play as Austin faced a first and five on the New Orleans twenty-five yard line. Easton Cole drops back to pass, but the Second Line send more people after him than he has blockers. Ugarth is the first to break free from the pile of bodies and takes Cole down for a six yard sack. Scary play by Ugarth there.
Agent Tesla: Ugarth making sure his name pops up in a positive even if the team might not have performed as well. Good job to Ugarth for always giving it his all! Now the next thing I want to highlight is just how the Austin Copperheads truly dominated this stretch. The New Orleans Second Line had a five minute drive in the third quarter going from five minutes fifty seconds left on the clock down to just forty seconds left. All but three plays went for positive yardage, but Austin was able to get a stop on a third down that led to a field goal attempt. Even a bright spot for New Orleans offense was stopped short of the end zone by Austin here.
Molly Mitchell: All thirteen of those positive yardage plays came from Marcella T?riki and Forrest Gump. So good running backs for the team at least. Our next highlight does not make much sense to me, but I will give it my best shot as it is the first of the fourth quarter highlights. First play of the fourth quarter and Austin has a third and seven on their own thirty-seven yard line. Fun! They go with a spread formation that leaves few blockers to go against the New Orleans front who have seven people if I counted right on this play. Xavien Adams manages to make his way through everybody and get to Easton Cole for the seven yard sack that would force a punt. Good job!
Agent Tesla: A great job there by Xavien Adams being an interior pass rusher there given his usual role in the slot. Just a couple of minutes later New Orleans has the ball with a second and five on the Austin thirty-seven yard line. Stan Francisco drops back to pass and sees some pretty quick pressure before throwing the ball up for grabs. The one who comes down with it is Austin's Jack Rambo who returns it twelve yards before the offense brings him down. A stifling defensive performance by the Copperheads here as there was nowhere else for Stan to throw it to either.
Molly Mitchell: Everybody looked covered to me when I watched it. Our next play came about six minutes into the fourth quarter on a third and six for New Orleans on their own twenty-four yard line. Stan Francisco dropped back to pass and just about everybody from Austin decided to try to tackle him. There is a special term for this kind of play right?
Agent Tesla: This was a no safety blitz. Brutal to try to block for an offense.
Molly Mitchell: Yes! Thank you. The one to get through the tight grouping of people was Takeda Okura! Who got a six yard sack for their efforts that would force a punt by Prohaska. Good job to you Takeda!
Agent Tesla: Takeda is a good player and made quite a few good plays today. Also good job to the Austin special teams for pressuring most of the New Orleans punts to force Prohaska off their game. Before our next actual highlight I just want to give some more credit to Xavien Adams and some credit to Bjørn Ironside for their work preventing a potentially even more brutal blowout of the team. After a turnover on downs with about four minutes left to play Adams and Ironside made a series of three tackles that kept Austin from a first down which led them to settle for a field goal. The fact they put in such effort with the game clearly lost is worthy of props in my book.
Molly Mitchell: Kudos to them for that never say die attitude! An important one to have in sports and especially on defense. Um, you gave me note cards about all the plays I was to highlight, but this one includes a lot of words my parents would be mad to hear me say. Do I have to repeat those?
Agent Tesla: You may clean it up if you prefer.
Molly Mitchell: Good. Just before the two minute warning and New Orleans has a first and ten on their own thirty-three yard line. Stan Francisco spikes the ball to stop the clock even though the team still had timeouts left as they called one just before fourth and ten. A lot of colorful language saying some not so nice things about the coach and a few things that should be done to them that I am not sure are physically possible to do to someone is written here as well. This was a poor decision by the coaches is all I will say on that then I guess.
Agent Tesla: I will respectfully not comment on that as my comment has been left on the bedside tables of the coaching staff along with some baked goods They will get the message loud and clear that way whether they know the history behind it or not. Will shout out Xavien Adams again for their never say die attitude and my client Magnus Rikiya who joined them in this trio of tackles that kept Austin from getting a first down after that absurd turnover on downs. This one even caused a punt as it was just a hair too long for them to want to try a field goal I feel.
Molly Mitchell: Well Magnus at least has one good thing to look back on for this game then, but kudos to Xavien for going above and beyond at the end here. The last highlight of the game came on third and five for New Orleans on their own twenty-five yard line. Just one second left in the game and Kyle Idlewyld bursts through the line to get to Stan Francisco for the five yard sack. Just the cherry on top for the Austin Copperheads as their defense left a disaster in their wake.
Agent Tesla: Indeed. Now onto the players of the game segment which is a weird one given how this game went. Offensive player of the game is Forrest Gump whose twenty-eight touches for 164 yards was the best performance by about thirty yards and by about half a yard per touch compared to the second place. A good job even if it ultimately meant no real points for the team.
Molly Mitchell: Good job Forrest. The card you handed me just says the entirety of the Austin Copperheads for defensive player of the game, but I am going to pick out just one if that is okay?
Agent Tesla: You may go ahead with whatever makes you most comfortable.
Molly Mitchell: Thank you. Four different players for Austin had takeaways so I can understand giving it to the defense as a whole, but I will go with Awkward Sexjoke who had twelve tackles in addition to a force fumble that they recovered. Twice as many tackles as any other member of the defense with a takeaway and so they stand out enough to get the award. There are a few people who were runner up that I would like to mention the first being Mason Blaylock with eight tackles, a pass break up, and an interception. The second being Dermot Lavelle Jr with five tackles, two passes defended, and an interception. Finally Takeda Okura who had five tackles, a sack, a pass break up, and an interception. Lots of good players on defense I would say.
Agent Tesla: Indeed. Now I will go get Magnus for our next segment so you just sit tight with the people for a bit.
Molly Mitchell: Intermission time again I guess. Hope you guys are not getting bored of me yet. We've got some pretty good music going on in the background here thanks to Agent Tesla's set up that is keeping me going. It was a lot of instrumental stuff for a while, but I think the current song is called Pink Lighted Suicide? I like it at least. Yeah the computer says it is Pink Lighted Suicide by Papercut Massacre. So if you are looking for something to listen to while you wait you might pop that on if you like alternative rock.
Not sure how far Tesla has to go to get Magnus, but hopefully they will be back soon to finish this article. I do not know what else to say to fill the time. Hope you are enjoying reading this whole affair and that you are having a good day. I know it is a bit strange compared to the usual highlights posts that Tesla and Magnus put out, but I hope I did a good enough job that you did not miss Magnus too much. Although for his sake I also hope they never have to call me back to do one of these again. Would not wish such a game on my worst enemy.
Agent Tesla: Then you do not have enemies like mine. We are back!
Magnus Rikiya: Thanks for filling in for me Molly. I also hope we won't have to call on your services again, but I am sure that you did a good job.
Molly Mitchell: Thank you! Well I will see you at the next Agent Tesla get together Magnus, and Tesla I will see you later today! Enjoy your jersey swap segment!
Agent Tesla: Yes! Now for those just tuning in to this series the next segment is where we go over who my client Magnus Rikiya swapped jerseys with after the game. Magnus has done this throughout his career and is now making the exchanges public through this media series. We love to give thanks to the people who agree as they are all good people in our experience. Now who did you swap with this time around my dear client?
Magnus Rikiya: I believe I am legally obligated to refer to them in a unique fashion and so I swapped jerseys with Easton Cole baybay. Apologies for that oddity; as I said I am pretty sure it is legally required. Anyway he was super cool about it and laughed it off when I explained the reason behind the request. Now do you want to explain the special reason I approached him, or do you want me to handle that as well?
Agent Tesla: I will own up to it. I saw his amazing run against Orange County and immediately called up my client to tell them that I needed a jersey. My lovely client was kind enough to agree to ask him to a swap since the other person he intended to ask is a rookie still on their rookie contract and so there will be plenty of opportunities to ask them in the future. So the jersey is now framed and hanging in my office. Thank you for the great gift Magnus.
Magnus Rikiya: You are welcome. We should probably see about getting something like that for Molly after she was nice enough to fill in for me today.
Agent Tesla: A lovely idea! I think I have the perfect solution to that. Now with all of our usual segments out of the way is there anything else you would like to say before we sign off?
Magnus Rikiya: Sorry to the team that we lost. Thanks to the readers who read through all of this despite my absence. A special thanks to Molly for filling in for me. You are all the best and are all appreciated.
Agent Tesla: Fair enough. Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this and we hope it is a good day for you. Stay safe out there and we will see you next time!
Agent Tesla quoting Magnus Rikiya's letter: This was the second worst game in my professional career and I am not emotionally ready to relive it right now. The next highlight is a second and seven on the New Orleans forty-five yard line for the Austin Copperheads. Easton Cole finds Net Gaines who gets hit immediately, and then hit again a few yards later.
