Going into the upcoming DSFL draft there are a total of eleven tight end draft prospects. But there seems to be a little bit of a bias when choosing the archetype of each TE prospect. Of the eleven prospects, there are seven balanced TE's, two possession TE's, one vertical threat, and one blocking TE. The balanced TE's include Julian Joseph, Daren Pama, Stephon Trummer, Colt Reinhorn, Dijibutee McJimmerson, Flap N'Chick, and Dan Foster. The two possession TE's are Gabr Spadle and Jake Woodhead. The one vertical threat TE is Cmon Skiuuup. And finally the one blocking TE is Cleg Manclaw.
Now I do not know the current meta for tight end, but I know that blocking is one of the most important jobs a TE needs to do. The lack of blocking TE's is disheartening. I feel as if there should be more blockers out there. I love when teams can run the ball well and Cleg Manclaw will be able to help any rusher run the ball. Cleg will bring the heat and will be able to help get any team that drafts him to the next level.
The blocking stats of other TE prospects are pitiful compared to Cleg's. Cleg boasts an impressive pass block stat of 55 and run block stat of 61. The next closest in either stat is Julian Joseph who has a 44 in pass blocking and a tie between Dijibutee McJimmerson and Flap N'Chick with 50 in the run blocking stat. Cleg Manclaw is going to be the face of the league going forward, he will be an inspiration for more blockers to enter the league.
