ISFL expansion team ideas
Hey all, Rich Triplet here and figured I would throw my bids in for the potential expansions as far as team locations and branding goes. I have got two team ideas that I think would fit in the ISFL nicely. I also would like to cover potential realignment in this article.
A major thing I considered for this article is location, here you will see a map of all ISFL team locations.

It is all compact in the US with the Wraiths and Honolulu being outliers. In the NSFC you have Baltimore, Chicago, Colorado, Philadelphia, Sarasota, and Yellowknife. In the ASFC you have Arizona, Austin, Honolulu, New Orleans, Orange County (located in Santa Ana) and San Jose.
Below I have drawn connections between the two divisions

NSFC(red) AFSC(blue)
I propose a realignment of the league with the two teams I am adding to make travel time between the divisions feel better overall. With the additions of the two teams I am adding, The Montana Summits and the Toronto Trees would spice up the league and have the divisions make more sense in my opinion.

With this new league alignment Colorado and New Orleans would switch conferences, while New Orleans and Austin are close together, New Orleans is much closer to the rest of the NFSC. The same applies for Colorado with the addition of Montana, both conferences maintain their outliers, Honolulu and Yellowknight so that remains fair for both sides. I think this makes the most sense.
Now that I have covered the way I would realign the divisions I would like to dive into the two teams I think would fit the bill to become ISFL teams.
The Montana Summit
Montana? Yes, Montana. Montana may not have the largest population in the states, but they do have some of the most beautiful scenery in all of America. This could also be great as Montana has no professional sports leagues currently there, popping up with one and biting the bullet early could drive the population to compact around the Summits. We also have a team in Yellowknife so I do not see why Montana would not work. The Montana Summits would play in view of glacier national park in an outdoor stadium to take advantage of the wonderful scenery around them.
Montana is known for their glaciers and their beautiful sunsets, below I have made a mockup of what I believe a jersey could look like for them. The blues also relate to the huckleberries that Montana is famous for. I included silver for the color of the lettering due to the state’s saying of oro y plata silver and gold.

Location wise Montana makes sense if the league wishes to expand and it also allows for a realignment into an east and west while maintaining the divisions defining features.
However, an argument could be made to keep Colorado in the NSFC and add Montana to that division, due to Montana being closest to Yellowknife. With this we move onto my second team the Toronto Trees.
The Trees
Toronto is a wonderful city for sports fans, Basketball, Hockey, Baseball all thrive in Toronto. All they are missing is a great football team to complete the big four. Toronto is one of the largest cities in Canada that is diverse and would allow for a second team from Canada to join the ISFL adding to our own diversity.
Toronto would allow for more of Canada’s population to become engrossed with ISFL thus generating much more revenue for the league overall. Adding Toronto to the league allows New Orleans to slide over to the NSFC and allows Colorado to move into the ASFC where they are closer to their divisional opponents.
For the Tree's Jersey I took inspiration from Canada's vast forests, before the tree line of course. Using earth tones I think the simplicity of this jersey is where it shines. The three trees on the shoulder with the one in the middle stands for nothing. I thought it would look cool and it does so I kept it.

As it is right now the league seems top heavy and allowing the addition of two new teams with the influx of new recruits restores parity to the league and allows it to be much more competitive which is healthy for the game. I believe that these teams not only fit with the growth of the ISFL but the theme as well. Let me know what you all think I would love to hear feed back on this!
