Hi Everyone!
With draft fever in full frenzy, I decided to throw this presser out there in case anybody has any questions they'd like to send my way. Draft-related questions would be great, but I will also take questions about my current team (Norfolk Seawolves), the DSFL, the upcoming DSFL draft, my user/player, etc.
Thanks in advance to those who post questions!
From @Net:
Why are you so cute?
Maybe I'm born with it, maybe it's Maybelline
Mount Rushmore of S31 class?
Ooh, good question. There could be any number of folks who deserve to be up there! Gimme my teammates French Fries, Spike Daniels, and Moosey along with Net!
Favorite teammate?
This is another really tough question, as I vibe with so many of my teammates. If I had to choose one, it would probably be @Sonaclov, a.k.a. French Fries. The dude is an absolute stud, super fun/funny, and will be a HUGE player in the ISFL.
From @SchwarzNarr:
Are you excited about the prospect of potentially playing with Mrs. McHits in the future? Or are you secretly excited at the prospect of playing against her?
Great question! I would love to have a fantastic and lovely human being like Mrs. McHits in the same locker room and on the same team as me. However, if fate happens to have us on separate teams in the future, I look forward to our match-ups. We are both very competitive, and the trash talk at home would be epic!
What are the acceptable shapes for pancakes?
Well, they can't be rectangular like in that episode of "The Office." I would say pancakes should be circular, and the sheer artistry of restaurant chefs who are able to form those Mickey Mouse pancakes for kids is simply breathtaking.
Having broken the tackle record for the DSFL in the new sim, how do you feel about that? What does this mean for the future of your career?
Breaking the record was a lot of fun! As we all know, the sim can act unexpectedly on a game-to-game basis, so I'm just grateful that my player was able to remain consistent in that area. I do want to focus on forcing more turnovers moving forward; it would add a new dimension to my game and allow me to help my team even more. In the future, should I stay at linebacker, I'll be looking to keep those big tackle numbers and make even more impact plays!
Norfolk had a down season in S30, what do you think they need to do for the future? Do you think you will be a part of that plan?
While Norfolk had a down season record-wise, I would argue that we had a GREAT season overall. I feel like our players, GMs, and alumni really bonded together to continue the legacy of fantastic Norfolk locker rooms. We are building the foundation for future success, and I feel that this next season could be an exciting one for us. The key will be finding more outstanding users to add to our team in the upcoming DSFL Draft, and keeping the LR a motivating, fun, positive place to be. I do really hope to be part of the plan long-term in Norfolk, continuing with scouting and assistance in the war room, and potentially even being a team GM or co-GM someday. I absolutely love this team, and would be thrilled to continue helping Norfolk far into the future.
What are your personal goals (not player goals) for the league moving forward?
My primary goal is to have as much fun as I can and to help others do the same. I love hyping up my teammates and other friends around the league, and love that, through scouting, I now have an outlet to help new creates fall in love with the league just as I have. A bit more formally, as I mentioned before, I would love to be a DSFL GM, and potentially move into an ISFL GM role or Head Office position at some point!
From @Dolphins:
Who’s your favorite opponent and why is it me?
Haha, I actually am not a huge fan of opposing receivers, as our team did not fare so well defending the pass last season. With that being said, I actually do have to go with a wide receiver here and say Jaycee Higgins. I reached out to him before our match-ups and tried to build up a bit of a rivalry, but it's all love.
Who do you think is going 1OA and don’t say yourself?
The common rumors seem to be @captjanko or @woelkers (Morpheus Czargyros and Cedric Wilkins II, respectively), and both are fantastic users who I get along with really well, so I'd be thrilled for either of them!
Who do you think will be a bust?
I don't know that I could identify who will be a bust, but I do think that the success of draftees will have a lot to do with what teams they go to and how they vibe with their teammates, GMs, and alumni. Locker room environment is so important, and I hope everybody goes somewhere they will really enjoy!
From @MamaB:
You’re always so positive. How do you do it?
Honestly, the energy and positivity folks see from me in the league is genuinely me, especially when I'm in an environment where I feel comfortable expressing myself and have the confidence to help others. I feel like finding this league was incredible for me personally, and I am able to use my real-life skills in leadership and communication to help make the league fun, both for myself and others.
What is your favorite part of being in the league?
The users, no question. I have met some absolutely incredible users who I consider friends. I look forward to getting on Discord and chatting with those folks each and every day. The league is filled with such a diverse, energetic, creative, and caring group of people, and it is definitely the best part of being here.
What is your favorite thing about Mrs. McHits?
Where do I begin?! She's an absolutely amazing spouse, my best friend, and the best mother my boys could ever hope for. I'm super pumped that she agreed to join the league, and she's getting used to it and started to really engage, which is fantastic to see!
What makes you feel successful in this league?
I feel successful when I'm having fun, and when I can help hype up or support other users, as well. I'm also an ambitious and competitive person, so things like winning, awards, and other recognition are always nice, too
From @woelkers:
What is the rough circumference of your quadricep muscles?
69 inches
If you could choose anybody from all of league history, who would join you on your dream defense?
I actually kinda answered this one in my Ultimus Week tasks, but I'll copy and paste here
DE: @Skindog44 Ioe Torrent - Dallas Birddogs (Austin Copperheads)
King of the DSFL podcast, Ioe has great insight into player personnel and led the DSFL in sacks this year!
DE: @captjanko Morpheus Czargyros - Minnesota Grey Ducks
Janko is another user in my class that has been tearing it up on the field and is super easy to get along with.
DT: @Tesla Magnus Rikiya - Colorado Yeti
What can I say about Tesla that hasn't been said before. What an absolute gem of a user and human being! Rikiya would anchor our D-line.
LB: @SchwarzNarr Melvin Murder-Moose - Colorado Yeti
Moose would be delivering big hits from the LB position for us, and Schwarz would be an invaluable asset in all matters of team management, as well as helping create an amazing locker room environment.
LB: @IsaStarcrossed Adelie de Pengu - Colorado Yeti
Pengu is another player who would do a great job for us on the field, but is arguably even more valuable in team management and locker room vibes. Isa always has a story to tell or insight to give!
LB: @Jimi64 Jimi DeSoto - Philadelphia Liberty
Jimi is yet another great LB who I'd love to have on my team, and is the laid back, joking type of user who is perfect for the locker room!
S: @MMFLEX Miles Weperom - Honolulu Hahalua
Weperom, the former 1oa pick, would deliver the hits from safety and provide yet another leadership figure in this stacked LR.
S: @Michiganonymous Spike Daniels - Norfolk Seawolves
Another one of my favorite teammates, Spike has been progressing in his game as his TPE rises, and I feel he'd make a great impact in the secondary for us.
CB: @HasumiKi Hououin Kyouma - Norfolk Seawolves (Chicago Butchers)
Zeph! An incredible player and user, Kyouma is the perfect ingredient for a great locker room, bringing comedy, positivity, and experience to this squad, which is young at several positions.
CB: @woelkers Cedric Wilkins II - London Royals
Woelkers is one of the legendary users in this league, and has been simply amazing to interact with and learn from. Don't get it twisted; Wilkins would get it done on the field as well, and we all know that TPE is heading up quickly.
What ambitions do you have for yourself long term?
I'd love to become a DSFL GM, and then potentially an ISFL GM or HO member. I'd also like to continue to get involved with committees, and would love to serve as a rookie mentor at some point, as well!
Which users from this class do you feel have gone overlooked?
Fantastic question! From my team, I'd have to go with @Sonaclovand @Patey. Sonaclov not being mocked to be a 1st round pick is crazy to me, and I feel like Patey isn't getting the recognition he deserves since joining as a waiver addition last season. Two outstanding WRs who anybody will be thrilled to get in the ISFL draft. I also look at folks like @DELIRIVMand @Southie who were drafted late in the DSFL Draft but have been absolutely tearing it up in the DSFL as folks who deserve more recognition.
What candies could improve the center of a Tootsie Pop?
Gimme like OG Warhead sourness in the center of a Tootsie pop. Obviously, chocolate flavor would then be a no-go, but that's alright.
