Tsuyu Diary entry #1:
"We landed in Sarasota and man I forgot how hot it is in Florida compared to Colorado. I actually had to put in a tank top I was sweating so much. I took a quick trip to the beach to take a dip in the ocean before the game started and got hit on by a really tan guy. After managing to get away from him and back to the hotel, we quickly went over our game plan. I had been doing a lot of Speed training and I can feel it being a big help to me already in practice.
We headed to the bus to go to the Sailfish stadium not long after. We discussed the game plan a bit more and brought up some players we have to keep an eye on. Soon we reach the opposing locker room (which I have always thought smelled like tanning lotion) and I changed in the bathroom real quick. I will never be comfortable changing in front of the guys, especially when they are new teammates. No offense to them, it's just how I do things.
Soon I was back in the locker room and Melvin did his pregame speech. He talked about how we should leave it all on the field and hold nothing back. So far, nothing I haven't heard already from Philadelphia speeches. Then he talked about how I should do my best to make a good debut in blue and red and yellow (well, mostly white because it is an away game). I just told him I would do my absolute best out there. Then I told Caliban that he should be looking for me out there because I will be speeding for the ball. Soon we are called to head into the tunnel and I can see a sea of blue and aqua green waiting to boo us.
It is fitting that my first game with the Yeti is against Sarasota. They were one of my top choices in free agency, and while they did make a pretty good argument, Colorado just seemed more desirable. We ran out of the tunnel to a chorus of boos (and a few cheers because some Colorado fans made the trip). We received the ball first and the connection between me and Caliban was immediately apparent as we connected on a lot of passes in that first drive. Raphael caught our first touchdown of the game and the offense looked great so far.
While we would slow down for a bit in the first half, Caliban connected with me on a short pass for me to catch my first touchdown as a Yeti. He connected with me again on a short pass for another touchdown after Melvin forced a fumble to put us up 21-10. While Sarasota did cut the lead to 21-13 ay one point, we scoured another touchdown to bring it to 28-13, which would hold thanks to our defense making plays. It was an extremely fun game for us all and we were in good spirits when we headed back to the locker room.
Melvin let me know how proud he was of us, and told me that I put on a show for the Yeti fans back in Colorado. I thanked him for saying that and told him that I was ready for Chicago. Anyways I think that is all I will say for this entry so see you next time!"
