It's been a whirlwind season for Howard Miller and the Kansas City Coyotes. Some early season struggles that led to a 1 - 2 start had people predicting another bad year for the team. But an overtime win against a strong Marshals side saw a resurgence in Kansas City, and the Coyotes went on to win 6 straight and held the top spot in their division with a 7 - 2 record before the home stretch. From there, things fell apart again. In the final 5 games of the season, the Coyotes went 1 - 4, including losing three in a row after their 6-game win streak ended. Finishing the season at 8 - 6 after getting out to 7 - 2 certainly reflects poorly on the team; however, it was nonetheless a marked improvement from their previous season, and fans, players, and coaches alike still hold hope for a first Ultimini win.
Amid the chaos of their rollercoaster season, the spotlight shined often and shined brightly on the first overall pick, Howard Miller. Before the start of the season, Miller announced that it was his aim to beat all single-season receiving records in the DSFL. This meant, at a minimum, he was aiming to amass:
While Miller didn't reach any of his goals for the season, he has commented that ultimately, nothing is more important than the championship. As such, he will be aiming to put any negative thoughts behind him in the lead-up to the do-or-die playoff game against a dominant Portland side.
With the DSFL season nearly in the books, however, one question remains: which NSFL team is going to draft the standout wide receiver?
