Various reporters and journalists continue to chat as Achilles Hondo enters the room and makes his way to the microphone at the center of the stage. You'd heard reports saying he was some mountain of a man and watching him play and workout you know just how powerful he is. But seeing him in person he's actually not all that tall and is sporting a wry grin as he takes his seat. He almost seems like someone you shouldn't take too seriously, but there's something about him that tells you otherwise. He exudes a profound amount of swagger and one thing you immediately know for sure is women want him and men want to be him. He leans back in his seat for a moment to stretch before returning to hovering just a few inches from the microphone. As he begins to speak, the conversations around the room quickly come to a close and all attention focuses to the man at the front.

What do you want to be when you grow up?


When I grow up I want to be a Shaquille O'Neal. That dude's been reitred for how long and he still gets to goof off and have fun, be on TV, just kind of do whatever. Just need to grow another foot, but I'll get there.


What's the most pizza you've eaten in one sitting?


Most pizza I ate in one sitting was a 2 foot pizza that was part of like some kind of Man vs Food challenge at this pizza place called '2 Guys & a Pie' near FVSU. Amazing pizza, if you're down there you gotta go. Oh right like I was saying so yeah I just went there after practice one day and crushed this pizza. If you won, you could get $150 or free pizza for two weeks. What kind of prize is free pizza after I just ate this huge pizza? I didn't want pizza for like two months after that. So I took the money and then went out and bought ice cream and beer. I didn't make it to practice the next day.


Describe your football prowess to a blind person.


Blind person, huh. Ok umm let's see. You know that old THX sound effect where it starts low and then just keeps getting louder and louder? Yeah everyone knows what I'm talking about. Playing a football game against me is just like that except it doesn't stop at the end right when it's starting to get too loud and annoying. The game starts and you're like ok this could be interesting, but as the game goes on I just keep coming back harder and harder until you just can't take it anymore.


What's your favorite 90s jam?


Oh for sure it's gotta be No Diggity. I still listen to that all the time


If you could animorph into any animal in the world, what would it be?


Probably a T Rex. I mean damn could you imagine being a T Rex? Maybe gotta change my first answer to be an animorph now. Cause then I could just animorph into Shaq too wow


Any favorite teams in the DSFL?


I had talked a little about my favorite teams at one point recently: http://nsfl.jcink.net/index.php?showtopic=9376. But, definitely Portland or Tijuana would be my favorite ones. Cool places, cool teams that's what I'm all about. Though to be fair, I just wanna play some football so my favorite team will be wherever I end up playing, ya feel me.


Any favorite teams in the NSFL?


Probably Second Line. I love New Orleans man the music, the food, the partying. It's like Disneyland for adults. Not that you can't go to Disneyland if you're an adult. But if you're a grown man at Disneyland with no kids? I mean, maybe you gotta reevaluate some life choices. Not to mention Second Line is the newest team in the league. Gotta root for a team like that.


What are your goals for your first season?


DSFL Championship or bust. I won't be beating myself up if I don't get it this isn't the NSFL yet. But I know what I'm capable of and I'm going to do all that I can to make it a reality. Though c'mon whatever team drafts me, it's basically guaranteed


Any other rookies you want to play with in the DSFL?


It's no secret that D'Pez (Muford) and I are basically brothers at this point. I'd definitely be willing to welcome Shannon Hobbs (evryday) into this family as well.


What do you think are the odds you become a feature back in the NSFL? Do you want to be a full back in the pros?


Hard to say, even in the DSFL this season it looks like there's some really talented running backs coming in. I know what my limitations are going to be compared to guys with a different style. I'd be fine being in a committee with someone that would be a good complement as well. As for being a full back, if I found that I was good at it I would definitely embrace it. Really I'm not dead set on anything. There are a lot of different roles I would be happy in taking for a team, starting running back or otherwise. I'm going into the DSFL with an open mind and hoping I come out with a better understanding of how to be the most effective player I can be.



I've heard you have a close relationship with linebacker Micah Hendrix, how has he helped you in your career?



Yeah we're represented by the same agency so it's no surprise we ended up running into each other a lot, but he's become a huge mentor for me. I can talk a lot, but I'm no fool, when a guy with a career as long as his so far and multiple championships starts trying to give you advice you shut the hell up and listen. And not just like football smarts either. Things about how to take care of your body, he's really big on like yoga and eating vegetables and shit. Tastes so bad but damn it does make you feel good. Coming into the league you don't really know as much as you think so I'm very blessed to have had him there to help bring me along. I hope we stay friends for a long time even after he retires this coming season.



What're your expectations as far DSFL production?



Really hard to say without knowing what team I'll be with or even what position I'll play. Only thing I can say expectation wise is a championship. That's all I care about.
