As I’m only in the beginning of my first season up in the big league it is quite unfortunate that we decided to put the rest of the season on hold. With so much found free time I would spend it attempting to build up my strength speed and stamina. Making sure I keep up with my workouts every day as I do not want to have lost a step when the season eventually comes back. I would spend a lot of time will the jug machine as I have always had a history with dropping too many passes. My whole life has always been football so not being able to play is really weird. I guess I would take up Madden so I can try to keep my mind on football and who knows maybe I could learn a move or two from the games. I would also probably try to hit up either Havran or Chika to see if they wanted to throw some balls to me so I can keep up my route running. Of course we would always stay a safe 6 feet away and also wipe down both the footballs and my gloves after each pass. Can never be too safe in these crazy times. Lastly I would make sure to keep up with the rest of my teammates to make sure they are safe. Last thing I would want is to lose any of them in these horrible times.

Overall, we're extremely lucky that the NSFL and DSFL have remained free of plague driven interruptions but, if the worst should come to pass, we owe it to our teams to remain as competitive during the quarantine. To that end, ever since I was drafted as an undersized offensive lineman I've been endeavoring to cultivate as much mass as possible. A high priority for me during lockdown would be continuing to add the pounds required to be competitive in the trenches. Most of my fellow Python linesmen are well ahead of me in that regard, so I’d be moving up my plan to found Portland Fair Rub Cookin’ Club. Whilst I've no doubt we all have access to the finest nutritionists west of the Rockies, my Pa always used to say "success in life start with you".

Through the magic of the internet I’ll be starting weekly online barbecue sessions to educate each other on the finer points of grillsmanship. My man Sacamano is a wizard with the dry rub and you haven't lived until you've seen how Dolls sears a steak. But why limit ourselves to the grill? It’s 2020 after all, and my many hours spent recently sampling the finest of Portland’s bakeries has given me preference for pastries. You can bet I’ll be getting the boys into a ZOOM chat to go over the finer points of differentiating your cobblers from your crumbles. Whatever happens with the season, us Fair Rubs have to keep our mass up somehow. So with free time, teamwork and video chats we’re gonna have some fun whilst doing it. If any other Fair Rubs unlucky enough to not be on the Pythons also want to escape lockdown boredom and cultivate some mass, have your people contact my people and we’ll see if we can get you a seat at the table.

With the closure of the other major sports leagues across the world the closure of the NSFL would be the final step to truly reach an apocalyptic world. Besides the logistical problems of shutting down the league due to a global pandemic that currently has no near end in site it would provide individuals to look back into the league's history or to understand that we are all this together and any bullying/harassment is unnecessary. While the Sabercats may not be the best team on the field, they would be the best team to have a party with because of characters such as Brayden Ennis, Action Jackson, Dan Wright, myself, and our cult leader/GM CK. In order to pass the time as a team i could image the team coming together (in a safe way) to watch films, hangout, game, and other various activities that still facilitate the communication between eachother. One of the positives if the league were to be put on a hiatus is that the Sabercats wouldn't lose any more games but honestly we'd probably still find a way too. Lastly, if the league would be on lockdown i think that the best way to pass the time would be to create a simulation league of a simulation league so that we never miss out on the action and keep the good times rolling. Hey hey hey, don't take too much credit to yourself, last time I checked PBE - Pro Baseball Experience, SHL - Simulation Hockey League and other sim leagues entities were going strong in these dangerous times, so while I appreciate NSFL too, it's not the only one. Going back to the topic at hand - there is simply no time to waste and while we self - isolate in spare time our routine outside of combined pieces of training wouldn't change too much. Everyone can study tactics, improve their reactions, stamina, strength even in their homes. There is no time just to simply pass in professional sim league player life, that much should be known.
Still, if we were to cancel whole season I'd feel really sad since it's one lost opportunity for greatness, new records, adding those stats for sweet leaderboards and eternal glory in the league hall of fame. I'd probably feel sudden urge to do things I wouldn't waste time before, which could negatively impact my future performance - you can only not go mad for so long after sitting all the time in your flat by yourself (yes, speaking from experience now, been several days without saying another human face directly). Hopefully, those times never start in NSFL and pass soon in the real life, I'll certainly pray for that.

If the NSFL decided to suspend the season, I think the NSFL would focus a lot on internal upgrades that could be made as an organization. I think that we’d have newly available time to focus on conversations that might often get thrown by the wayside due to the busyness of the day-to-day in the league. I’m biased towards more technical topics, but topics related to the forum itself or other sites and tools that we use could be good candidates for discussion. I’m sure topics like this, as well as all sorts of other operational or logistical conversations are happening behind closed doors, but from my perspective as a player a suspended season would be a good time to get involvement from the players themselves in those conversations. Whether or not that involvement would actually end up being a positive thing is up for debate. As for myself and my team, I think that I’d spend some more time making graphics for my fellow players. The season keeps us all busy, but I think it’d be a fun way to pass the time to make cool sigs or cards for people. It would allow me a lot of extra time to put additional thought and care into the graphics that I was making.

If the NSFL were to suspend the season, Eldrick Avery would be very disappointed. The London Royals have really started to get things together lately, and they currently find themselves right in the thick of the playoff race. If the season were to be cancelled it would be very bitter and dissatisfying. On an individual level, this could really impact the growth of Avery, and have a negative effect on his game for years to come. Additionally, it would have a large impact on the draft process. The combine would likely have to be cancelled, or at least be done remotely, and players would no longer be able to visit teams for interviews and pre draft workouts. After being drafted, I’m sure many players would possibly be hoping to spend an extra season down in the DSFL due to the sense of unfinished business. I know that would definitely be the case with Avery, especially with the expansion Royals entering their second season and looking to contend. There is a possibility that may NSFL players would decide to push back retirement for one last season in order for them to have one last go with their current teams to make up for the lost period. This could result in the Royals roster, and other DSFL teams rosters, to stay largely the same entering next season. While it would be an awful thing if the NSFL and DSFL seasons were to be cancelled, I think it could lead to the Royals banding together and coming back next year stronger than ever.
