The Portland Pythons are looking to bounce back from a rough 5 and 9 season, where they had the second worst record in the developmental Simulation Football league, this season, there will be quite a few changes that will make Portland one of the most feared teams in the the developmental Simulation Football league to date. We have a change in quarterback as that Sam Howitzer will become the top guy in Portland, replacing George O’Donnell, who was called up to the Chicago Butchers to be their starting quarterback. The Running back core is similar but quite different, Joseph Petrongolo being the main back, McZeal not far behind, and the new but unusual Mai Fukshuu, as the new generation of RB’s take shape in Portland. The wide receivers are led by returnees Sean Snyder and Videl San, along with the new weapon in Korbin Brown, and Nick Marksman being the the last available option for receiving at the tight end position to replace former team captain Daniel George. The defense was completely overhauled, with Omar Wright Jr being the only returning player on defense, and joined by a group of young and up and coming Defensive players, like Ruhu Rush, Dorothy Zbnorok, and a lot more. This team is truly Revolutionary, and is the next generation.

Last season the Pythons went 5-9 with a so-so Offense and a weak defense, but this past draft promises to change all of that. The pythons went defense-heavy early with their two top-ten picks going to Dorothy Zbornak (DE) and Joel Drake (S) respectively. That isn't to say they ignored the offensive side of the ball, rather, their next 5 picks on that side of the ball. 2 RB's 2 WR's and a QB. Among this group are the users YoungTB and Jiggly_333, two users who provoked the war room members I was talking with to claim them as the "steals of the draft". With such aa haul including the highest-ranked QB of the class, the future of the Pythons seems bright. After missing the playoffs by just a game last season, the Pythons certainly have reason for optimism, for this season and next, after most of these players are likely sent back down for an extra season of DSFL development. Of specific expectations are Zbornak and Drake, as the two top picks by Portland they are expected to rejuvenate a defense that allowed a near-league worst 277 pts last season. No matter what, the beginning of a new career is always exciting and we shall see if these players live up to the hype.

The Yeti didn't see any drastic changes after they won the ultimus in season 22, as they will keep all their retiring players- James Bishop, Red Arrow and Michael Vincent- for this season. However, those players announcing retirement and not earning TPEs caused some changes in the Yeti depth chart. In the wide receiver corps, William Lim had been elevated to the WR1 role and he will put up a good production with more than 500 TPE and max speed. Also, S23 rookie Jackson Kingston will receive significant amount of snaps. Kingston will continue to develop, and will be a valuable member of future Yeti receiving corps.
For the runningbacks, new callup Richard Gilbert is expected to take reps as RB2 after Ashley Owens in retiring Vincent's stead. Gilbert- a second year player with great strength and speed- will be a great compliment to owens and the Yeti ground game.
The Yeti offense also saw massive improvements in the trenches with the addition of first round tackle Dick Thruster. Thruster, who was considered the best lineman in the S23 draft, will be a lifesaver in both the offense and cap management.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Yeti saw the addition of cornerback Thubba Bumper and linebacker Alex Selich in addition to getting almost all of their S22 starters back. Bumper will be an immediate help in the secondary by manning Logan Uchiha's former spot, and Selich will provide some more veteran presence in the locker room while he tries to break the all time tackle record with the Yeti. I am excited to get the opportunity to be back with the London Royals this season. Last season they picked me up for the improbable playoff run to the Ultimini where we unfortunately lost a tight one with Tijuana. This season however we are much stronger as we added on multiple top users to go along with users that are in their 2nd and 3rd seasons. Just speaking about the offense we have a maxed out quarterback in Colby Jack, maxed running back in Danny King, and a maxed receiver in Susan Cash Jr. That is one hell of a trio and now we were able to add reinforcements through the draft, specifically to the receiving game. Last season it was Cash Jr. and nobody else out wide. This season I, Tre'Darius J'Vathon, returns and by playoff time I should be close to being a maxed out receiver. Not only did I get brought back but we also selected young upstarts in Gunner Thorbjornsson at the slot receiver spot and Frank Mitchell at tight end. The defense was already the strongest thing about this team and now we have an offense to go along with it. I fully expect the Royals to make another Ultimini and be a top contender to win it this season.

After an 8-6 finish, followed by a narrow elimination in the first round of the playoffs, the Norfolk SeaWolves are poised to sink the Luchadores and drop a bomb on the Ultimini, this season. With some key additions on defense and new offensive weapons, the roster is looking very promising. The addition of tackles Sigismund Sternenstaub and Chad "The Rig" Simpson alongside the veteran Braxton Sinclair has made their defensive line a brick wall, with Sinclair and Simpson both incredibly strong at the point of attack, and sure to make a lot of room for linebackers de Pengu, Marshall and Scott to do a lot of damage to opposing offenses. The addition of cornerback Rickie Vaughne and safety Quentin Button has turned the secondary from spotty to strength, and with the pass rush generated by the front seven, that secondary could be a real no fly zone.

Offensively, the backfield duo of Tequila Sunrise and Quanter Skrills are both dual threats on the ground and in the air. Star Tight End Reynaud Haugland and Wide Receiver Dre Matthews are both lethal down field threats that promise to make teams that leave them in single coverage pay dearly for the mistake. This team can make you bring a safety into the box, then make you regret it immediately.

Much has been said of the Royals' potent defense as well as their upgrades on offense, but perhaps the best player on the team is kicker/punter Datsum Phastbawls. Phastbawls was drafted by the Baltimore Hawks in this year's draft, and he could easily be a contributor on an NSFL roster already. At the time of this article, Phastbawls has the 10th-highest overall TPE of any K/P (including NSFL players), and he is tied for the 3rd-highest Kick Power attribute of any player in the league. After Phastbawls' 90 Kick Power, the kicker in the DSFL with the next highest Kick Power is Pythons rookie Blago Kokot, with 80. In addition to having the leg strength to make longer field goals than opponents, Phastbawls will assist massively to helping the Royals win the field position battle on a weekly basis. This is a contribution that should not be overlooked in a league where scoring is at a premium. At the end of the season, do not be surprised if Phastbawls is able to capture some sort of DSFL record for punting yards or longest field goal--his leg strength is truly an echelon above any other player in the DSFL, and he will be crucial in the Royals quest to make another consecutive appearance in the Ultimini.
