The name change was certainly needed and I am happy that the league finally has a name that is both more representative of the league itself and cannot be confused for Not Safe For Life. That said, there are certainly still areas that could see significant improvement. The first, in my opinion, is something I wrote an article about recently. Free Agency in this league is quite boring and a significant amount of the league simply extends their contracts indefinitely at near minimum salary with the team they were originally drafted to. I believe that adding a window at the end of a contract season where other teams could negotiate with soon-to-be free agents could create a far more interesting free agency. Although my experience with free agency was very brief between opting out of my contract and signing an extension a day or so later, it was fun having other teams all vocally expressing interest in me and this is something that I think should be encouraged league-wide. If you want to read the full article, you may do so here. Additionally, I believe that the league should seriously consider going back to allowing predictions on every game day. I believe the easiest way to do this would be to remove trivia altogether, but I’m not entirely sure I like that suggestion. I do believe trivia could be improved by moving the responses to google forms in a similar fashion to how PBE does their primetime predictions. A form could be created with the questions and users could submit their answers via the form and then comment in the thread within a few minutes of submitting. This would cut down on the chances of users committing fraud. The answers would be put out in a spreadsheet and I believe would be far easier to grade, hopefully speeding up the turnaround time for claimable TPE. These are my suggestions for improving the league!
