Moving on from Jcink

Hello everyone,

as recently teased in the HO newsletter, the development team has been hard at work. The first initiative that I have spent a lot of time on will be to finally migrate our forums away from jcink, onto our own server running mybb instead. Changing the forum is one of the most often mentioned feedback items, so we are glad to be in a position to do so. Most of the groundwork for the move has been done, with some minor prep outstanding.

We wanted to give you an early heads-up of our plans for the move, which is currently pencilled in for Sunday, 2nd of August:

1. Overnight/in the early morning of Sunday, we will put jcink in read only mode. That means you wont be able to post until the migration has finished but can still access everything.
2. We will then migrate across all existing forums, threads & posts as well as groups, profiles (including signatures) & personal messages and setup permissions on the new site.
3. At this point, you will be able to access the new forum, but will have to request a password reset (via your registered email account) to be able to login & make posts.
4. Once logged in, the forum will work very much similar to jcink today, just better and allowing us more control and customization.

What does this mean for you?
- You will need to perform a password reset on the new forum.
- While we will migrate all content, the format of some signatures will be slightly broken, so you may have to fix up some links or drop down menus for it to show correctly.

Extensive support will be provided via Discord as well as a special jcink thread.

We will share some more details over the coming weeks, for now, you can find a teaser image of the new look below (there will be a dark and a light theme to choose from).
