The Birddogs don't really have a chance to win a trophy this season except for running back Zoe Watts. He's one of the best running back in the league right now. He's third in rushing yards and in touchdowns scored. The competition is really close but I think he can finish the season at the top. I don't think he can win MVP because the team is currently at bottom of the standings. He definitely has a chance to win Positional Excellency Awards and Offensive Player of the Year if he keeps playing on the same level daily. The Birddogs don't really good offensive players so they are going to feed him the ball. On defense, rookie linebacker Richard Leaking is having a great year. He has 44 tackles, 3 sacks and 6 pass deflected. He can do everything on defense. I don't think he's the best LB right now but in the next few seasons he could be the best. He might have a chance to win Defensive Rookie of the Year but it won't be easy. The competition is really close and he has to be more consistent. He doesn't have the best number in each categories but unlike other players he can do everything besides tackling.

The London Royals defense has many star players, the team as a whole has 391 tackles (second most in the DSFL), 29 tackles for loss (most in the DSFL), four forced fumbles (tied for third in the DSFL), and 23 sacks (most in the DSFL). One player on this defense has a far greater chance of winning defensive rookie of the year than the others though. This player is Albert Ruschmann. Ruschmann was the fifth pick in the season 24 DSFL draft, and this season he has done nothing but prove London right for taking him there. Through seven weeks Ruschmann has 17 tackles, which is not very impressive until you realize that 10 of them were tackles for loss. If Ruschmann gets a tackle >50% of the time it will be for loss. His 10 tackles for loss are ~34.5% of his team's total tackles for loss. Out of the entire league Ruschmann has ~6.3% of the tackles for loss. Ruschmann averages ~1.43 tackles for loss per game, which puts him on pace for 20 tackles for loss on the season. And if the Dallas Birddogs still feel like talking trash on twitter, then I have something to tell them: Albert Ruschmann has more tackles for loss than your entire team.

Disclaimer: As the GM of the Norfolk Seawolves, I wanted to write about them since we have a lot of stand out guys who could be up for awards that I want to give recognition to here.

The Norfolk Seawolves have a lot of incredible performers on the offense, defense and special teams, but one player really stands out above the rest as a playmaker and gamechanger. It's not one of our studs on the offense, QB Suleiman Ramza who leads the league in passer rating, Rogers who has the 3rd highest YPC of all running backs with 100+ carries, nor is it even last years WRoTY winner Dre Matthews, who has the 3rd highest YPR and is tied for first for touchdown catches. Instead, we'll be looking at a player who spends most of his time on the defense playing CB, but the award he's really gunning for is Returner of the Year. This player is Rickie Vaughne. Vaughne has been a miracle worker for this team. With a 23.1 yard average on kick returns, and a league leading 16.5 yard return average on punt returns, Vaughne consistently gets the Seawolf offense in good position to start their drives. Without his consist and strong returns, the offense would likely be put in more difficult positions, and it's possible that they wouldn't have seen the great success they've had this first half of the season without his efforts. On top of all this, Vaugne has 2 punt return touchdowns this season. Yep, you heard that right, only 2 other returners have a punt return TD, and this beautiful man has 2 on his own. His first was a 69 yard return (nice) against Minnesota in week 2 to help his team dominate, and his second was week 5 against Kansas City. This is the one I want to highlight. In a grueling Ultimini rematch, the fight was even throughout the entire game between the offenses and defenses of both teams. It was tied 3-3 in the 4th quarter, and after a good stop by the defense, KCC was forced to punt. The Norfolk offense had been rough this entire game, so a 2 minute drive to hopefully win the game would have been asking quite a lot. Instead, Vaughne decided he'd wrap things up himself, taking the punt return 71 yards to the house! Game winner right there. If that doesn't sound like the top candidate for RETotY, then idk what would.

When you talk about awards and Austin there is only 1 place to go; and that is to the legendary, award winning, record breaking kicker, Alfredo Crisco. Despite being in his 10th season and being the oldest place kicker left in the ISFL he is showing the young whippersnappers how to have perfect leg and will of iron. Alfredo is currently far and away the leader at this half way point for the kickers. 21 extra points attempted, 21 extra points scored, 22 field goals attempted, 22 field goals scored there really isn't anything more need to be said with that! 


The other Copperhead who is currently the front runner for an award is none other than mega star quarterback Easton Cole. Cole has lead the Copperheads for a long time and has always been known for his unfortunate turnovers, however this season he has been a star. Cole has had less TDs than some others with 10 so far, but he has the lowest number of interceptions with only 3 so far. Add that to the fact he is 3rd in total passing yards and TOP in quarterback rating with 91.4% he is currently leading the pack and if he continues he will deserve the riches coming his way.
