Griff’s welcome to the league basically happened when he came over from the Albion League of Blood Bowl to this American League and this American Football thing. Griff Oberwald was a star, a man among children if you will, over in Albion and while playing Blood Bowl. Here, he’s just another joe schmoe, if you will, and is just another normal human. Coming over, and not being the star of the team has really been a eye opening experience. Griff has had to fight for every possession, every play that he is on the field, and he has had to fight repeatedly to become one of the greatest. Last season he was brought up for the Chicago Butchers, and had an interesting season. This season, Griff looked to take a more open role in the offense, but that all changed when the Chicago Butchers brought in Bender Rodriguez. It has thrown Griff further down the depth chart, and all he can really do is keep fighting and grinding to continue to attempt to become a great wide receiver over here, like he is over in Albion. It is an uphill battle for Griff, but if he keeps his head down and keeps fighting for it, it will come to fruition.

I was not always a defensive end. Actually, it was a recent switch. When I first started my career as an athlete, I was originally a tennis player. After a horrific tennis elbow injury, I was no longer able to hit my exceptional one handed backhand anymore, and my career tanked. I moved over to high school football where the injury taught me to use speed and technique instead of relying on the brute strength of my arms. I learned to be a stand out linebacker where finesse was my strength. I went into college as a linebacker and eventually to the DSFL as the same position. It was there where my GM saw my large size and technique and figured I would be an amazing defensive end. After struggling to adapt, I started to ball out and rack up tackles for loss. During the first half of my rookie season, I led the league in tackles for loss. And I have to say, sacking QBs and stuffing running backs was a lot more satisfying. I embraced the new position and began to excel. My elbow still gives me a lot of trouble. But I turn it into a positive. The pain is a constant reminder to out smart and out finesse the offensive line to get around them. I am continuing to perfect this trade as a 2nd year DSFL player. And soon, I’ll be sacking big league QBs.

Coming into the leage Heinrich was picked off waivers by Myrtle Beach. He got a bit lucky there as this was the season where the Buccaneers went on a title run. Though he didn't contribute much to the success - he accounted for - hold your breath - 1 Tackle, he still was on the roster.
The first time he really felt like he was part of the league was when he was drafted by the Portland Pythons. He was a major contributor right off the bat in the team. Unfortunately the Pythons weren't able to compete for a trophy that year. Still, after the test run in the DSFL and staying a max earner made him confident to compete at the next level. Going number 3 OA to the Honolulu Hahalua, boosted his confidence hugely. They decided to let him play right away and he didn't disappoint. After a stellar season with well over 100 tackles the second season proves to be a bit more difficult individually. In the second season there is a bit of a drop off from his performance of his rookie season. On the other hand he is really glad about the team performance. With 12 games played Honolulu is sitting on top of the ASFC with 7-5 competing for a play off spot. It remains to be seen if the Lua really make it to the post season. If they did he certainly could look over the fact, that his stats are a bit off.
Coming out of Alabama, Forrest was ready to shine in the pro leagues. Like a lot of prospects since the season 15 class of the ISFL, his first opportunity to show what he was made of was the Prospect Bowl. The story of that bowl at the running back position was Forrest vs Terry “The Candyman” Taffy. While Forrest was electric, the Central Grizzlies offense led by Gimmy Jarropolo frequently stalled out, likely due to his passes being so accurate and thrown with such force that his receivers failed to catch them. What this meant was the Forrest had a lot of yards, a good average, but didn’t have the touchdowns that the Candyman was putting up. A back and forth effort between the two, Taffy ultimately won the prospect bowl MVP. Upset at the result and recognizing it came due to his inability to find the end zone, Forrest worked on bulking up and improving his ball carrier vision in the red zone for his DSFL debut. Tying the touchdown in his first DSFL season and breaking it in his second (leading to him taking home the DSFL RBotY and DSFL MVP in S15), that work clearly paid off. Had it not been for that initial disappointment, Forrest would likely not have had the nose for the endzone he has held throughout his career.

Man this is a rough point task. I have been severely disappointed in my player's career so far especially with how well I have earned up to now. My player has had his face it to the league moment and never left it. From my first games in the DSFL my player has underperformed in my opinion. Part of it is the nature of the Defensive Tackle position. If you play DT you can outplay people with double your TPE if you play in the right position. I did not know the ins and outs of the sim or I would have made a requirement that I play in a stronger position for DTs. I will most likely retire early if I do not position switch. I am on a team that is a winning team and with an org with a great future so that will most likely keep me engaged no matter the situation. Hopefully, I can find a way to perform better as I get closer to maxing out. Talking with the team there may be a better way to use my TPE esp if I can continue to max earn. That opportunity is still about two seasons away, so we'll see how it all shakes out.
Reflecting back on the Career of Slinky Claxton, it has been quite the adjustment in going from College to the ISFL. A series of games that really sums it up in particular happened in the Post-Season last year. It would be Claxton’s Rookie season in the ISFL and it seemed as though he was finally hitting his stride and coming into the player that many hoped he would become. In the Wildcard playoff game against the Second Line, Claxton would go off. He would have 10 tackles and 2 sacks in the game helping the Copperheads advance in a nice victory. It seemed as though Claxton would hit another gear and become quite a weapon in the playoffs. The next week in the ASFC Championship game, Claxton would not even record a single tackle. Fortunately, the Copperheads would still pull out the victory taking them to the NSFL Ultimus game. In the Ultimus, again, Claxton was nowhere to be found, not even recording a tackle. If this doesn’t sum up the ISFL, I am not sure what does. Claxton has learned that he should always expect the unexpected and just when one thing works out doesn’t mean that everything will. He is using that mentality in Season 24 and even if it doesn’t work out for the Copperheads, Claxton seems to be taking everything one game at a time. Also not taking anything for granted whether its coming off of a big win or a big game.

Brandon Booker's "welcome to the league" moment came in Week 13 of Season 22, the final regular season game of Booker's debut ISFL (or, at the time, NSFL) season. Booker tasted victory in his first and only DSFL season, Booker's Myrtle Beach Buccaneers triumphing 27-10 over the Kansas City Coyotes to win the S21 Ultimini. Philadelphia entered Week 13 with a 6-6 record and a one game lead over the 5-7 Sarasota Sailfish in the fight for the final NSFC playoff spot. Philadelphia had a tough trip to play the 10-2 Yellowknife Wraiths, while Sarasota had a comparatively easy fixture: a home game against the 1-11 Chicago Butchers. Sarasota comfortably dispatched Chicago 38-10, meaning that Philadelphia needed a win against Yellowknife in order to make the playoffs.
Yellowknife scored 17 unanswered points to begin the game, with rookie running back Acura Skyline rushing for one and catching an 8 yard pass for the other. Philadelphia began to put up a fight, with veterans Sam Torenson running for an 8 yard touchdown and Nacho Varga burning the Wraiths defence for a 37 yard touchdown, but it wasn't enough. Yellowknife went on to win 34-21 and Brandon Booker had to wait to make his NSFL/ISFL playoff debut. Booker did experience the NSFL/ISFL playoffs in his second season, though. In Booker's sophomore season he replicated the three interceptions he accumulated in his rookie season, but this time helped the Liberty to a 9-7 record and the third playoff seed in the NSFC. Booker's playoff debut was a disappointing one in which Philadelphia lost and Booker recorded just two tackles, but losing in the playoffs is far more rewarding than losing a win-and-in regular season game.
