Fourth year Safety for the Philadelphia Liberty, Matt Cross is severely slacking this year, both on and off the field. In the first quarter of the season, his stats total 25 tackles and a single sack. Entering this season, Cross and fellow defensive back Brandon Booker were tied for 3 consecutive seasons with an interception in week one, a league record (for Cross this streak extended even to his first and only season in the DSFL as well, making it a four year total). This season, that streak came to the end for them both in their week one match up against Baltimore. This was a disappointing moment for Cross especially, as starting the season out hot was a point of pride for him. This breaking point has led Cross to be quite unconfident in games recently, recording no interceptions or forced fumbles yet this year, and only making his first big impact play week 4 against Berlin with his first sack of the year. Against Sarasota, the "Son of Havoc" only had 4 tackles. While the team played a great game and won, Cross was mostly absent for the victory. While Cross may be on pace for his second 100 tackle season in his career, his lack of impact plays as a Playmaker with so much potential is seriously concerning.
After signing his 3 year, 9 million dollar extension with the team, the Liberty are certainly hoping that this slump from their veteran Safety is only temporary, and that he'll pick up the pace and live up to his nickname by causing some Havoc for opposing QBs. ![]()
Written Option: In 200 words or more, present some argument about the league that can be supported with evidence - either with logic, stats, or examples. This could be anything - a player’s HOF case, why Berlin will win the Ultimus this year, why player agent rules need to be changed, or anything in between. Make sure your argument has at least some evidence backing it up, and avoid arguing anything that could venture into persona attacks.
I believe that the league has done a relatively good job addressing realistic harassment concerns and issues in its existence. In this stint of HO theres been one case of that I can remember which was the dylandeluxe case which I believe ended the right way, with him being yoinked out of the league. God knows we didn't need a fucking psycho like himself in the place much longer when he got so rattled about sim league friends as he did. You can't really go back and mention stuff like Archon because nobody in head office then is in it now, fuck sakes even mav eventually got out of head office after 165 years in there. There's a certain grouping of people that believe that people should be punished for disagreeing with them or calling them on their bullshit when it's clear as day. They then fall back under this victim complex or flog it off as it being another issue, but it's never on them. The same sort to spout some live laugh love, and to try and be a better person every day but then the next day they're being this absolute caricature of a tough guy online. The whole "I've had enough" shtick!! I've been victimised.... but you haven't. I don't believe the league should move towards a PBE esque censorship state of premise. Where jokes are essentially banned and everything is shoehorned into this sus acting pg13 mentality. Now I don't believe people who ask for porn channels in these discords are by anyway individuals worth hanging around, anything of that nature and anyone of that nature should honestly fuck off like the creep they present themselves at, especially anybody who doubles down and posts anime based porn images. You guys are legitimate freaks and I'd campaign that there's not too much of a line between what you're doing right now and being a nando. If the league wants to clamp down on the saltyness, they can. As well as any outwards obvious arguing or personal attacked should be addressed head on and case by case, but to put some sort of safety blanket over the league (via aunt jennys code of conduct for kids who dont think good and want to do other stuff good too) like the PBE has done , is the worst thing you can do.
During the most recent DSFL rule summit, there was a proposed, but rejected, rule that said: "No representative of a team may provide specific information to a user that would help the prospect create an ideal build, help the user time their player creation, or otherwise attempt to nefariously influence the process of creating a player and joining a DSFL team for their own benefit or to the detriment of another team." At a first glance, this rule would prevent GMs from giving advice to new creates as to what to do and when to do it. There is a vague part there. And it is something that can be understood with some simple logic. GMs are representatives, and HO knows them. What about war room members and players? Aren't those team representatives as well? And what if it is my brother, sister, or best friend and I give him the advice right in his face? How will HO know about all this? And what about DSFL General Managers that double as Rookie Mentors? There are so many questions that arise here, and it makes absolute sense why it did not go through. However, there is one thing that would be a massive change, and it would open up job opportunities. There are quite a few DSFL GMs that have doubled as Rookie Mentors. This rule means the two jobs split, and there are extra people that get a league job, and some more of that fake money to buy the drugs they need to improve their player, cuz that is exactly what TPE is. Sometimes, I wonder about DSFL players that unbank so much TPE once called up. How has nobody died yet from TPE overdose?

I'm going to make a case for Nacho Varga's HoF induction. While Nacho never quite had stretch of complete dominance, over the course of his career he managed to set the Philly record for TDs at 61. He had several pro bowl seasons in the ISFL. He never won WROTY but was nominated. The biggest case for Nacho is the supporting cast he played with. Nacho never quite lined up his peak with either a peak QB or offense. First he played with Adriana Falconi, a legend, but she was nearing the tail end of her career when Nacho came into the league. During that time he was also stuck behind the corpse of Jordan Von Matt, who was a very good receiver, but inactive at the time. Then and Brock Phoenix, a max earner and great QB with just terrible sim luck. After his early years when Nacho would have been in his prime, the team was not quite good enough to get Varga his stats. The team also tended to be extremely run heavy for a variety of reasons. Nacho was fine with this as it gave the team it's best chance to win.
All in all, Nacho had to overcome a lot, but still managed an excellent career. Note: I do not actually believe he should be in the Hall, but this was fun to write anyway. ![]()
Franklin Armstrong retired at the end of Season 24. Many have called him the greatest of all time at the end of his amazing career. It’s hard to say that isn’t the case. Armstrong retired with three Ultimus championships, and 3 straight Ultimus MVP’s. He also won 4 Ultimus Bowl Player of the Game Awards. He retired 4th all time in passer rating with 89.4. He also ended up making it into the top 10 in passing TDs with 170. Armstrong also made it to the 30,000 total yards milestone when combining his passing and rushing numbers. Speaking of rushing numbers, Armstrong retired #1 all time in all major QB rushing categories, making him the number 1 rushing QB in ISFL history. Of course Boss is the king of passing yards throwing for an absurd number of 5000 yard seasons. It’s a nice parallel between former Otters QBs. Both with 3 championships, 3 MVPs, king of passing, king of QB rushing. It’s an interesting debate. At the end of the day, Boss and Armstrong are the cream of the crop in QB play in ISFL history and the question of who the best of all time is a coin flip. Obviously I’m biased and will say Armstrong is the best QB in ISFL history.

This past offseason, longtime kicker and punter Alfredo Crisco finally succumbed to regression and retired after 12 seasons in the league. He had a long and successful career, but one that I argue is NOT worthy of being in the Hall of Fame.
Here are Crisco’s stats: 137 games played 325 extra points made (7th all-time) 335 extra points attempted (8th all-time) 97.0% career accuracy (9th all-time) 233 field goals made (5th all-time) 254 field goals attempted (5th all-time) 91.7% career accuracy (12th all-time) 65 yard field goal (ISFL record) 827 punts (4th all-time) 38,887 punting yards (4th all-time) 47.0 average punt (8th all-time) 119 inside the 20 (7th all-time) 78 yard punt (4th all-time) S20 Kicker of the Year S20 Punter of the Year 2x Pro Bowl Kicker 2x Pro Bowl Punter There are only three kickers in the Hall of Fame to date, and one of them was a quarterback for half of his career. The other two, Turk Turkleton and Dean Jackson, lay claim to a bunch of kicking or punting records. They will almost certainly be joined by a fourth, Kulture Fulture, when he becomes eligible in a season or two. Fulture shares similar career stats to Crisco, but unlike Crisco, Fulture has 6 KOTY and 3 POTY awards, more medals than any other kicker in league history to this point. Crisco has the longest field goal record, but I don’t think that that is enough to overcome his lack of awards and pedestrian volume numbers. Transgender lesbian, S15 veteran, and (retired) media extraordinaire. My idea of argument will likely come as very unpopular but by the end of the season I predict the New York Silverbacks will have a better regular season record than the Berlin Fire Salamanders. Now at the beginning of the regular season, this probably wouldn't be seen as that controversial, it's even a possibility that a majority of users would even agree. But now, with both teams on the horizon of week 5, the Berlin Fire Salamanders finds themselves sitting at a comfortable 2-2 record and the Silverbacks completely winless at 0-4. Ultimately though, I still see the New York Silverbacks passing the Salamanders in record by the end of the season, as the Salamanders are yet to truly be tested by their schedule. The Berlin Fire Salamanders will face in their upcoming schedule the Baltimore Hawks, the Colorado Yeti, and at the Yellowknife Wraiths. Combine this with the Fire Salamanders facing the San Jose Sabercats, and at the Honolulu Hahalua then the Colorado Yeti again. And while the Silverbacks will be truly tested with a 4-game road trip to Honolulu, San Jose, New Orleans, and then Sarasota all in the following weeks. The rest of their season will become much easier than their past couple of games.
