Well, over the offseason I switched teams, and in the interest of overreacting it was clearly the worst decision of my entire life. We're 2-5, which is the same record as Philadelphia, so I haven't exactly gone up in the world, and look at those tackle numbers! Absolutely mediocre, clearly I'm over the hill and should have just retired. And that Jay Cue guy? Clearly washed up. He might have had his time in the limelight but yes sir that time is past. Luckily I can make hot takes in the other direction, and we're obviously going to go 9-0 through the rest of the season. Arizona is like Goku charging up the spirit bomb: It might take several weeks to get going, but when it does, it'll just get deflected by our opponents. I'm only 2/3s done so let's give my other hot takes: Matt Cross is the greatest safety of all time, Suleiman Ramza is the greatest QB of all time and deserves to go 16-0, the two of them are the greatest DSFL GMs of all time, Bex is actually a good Commissioner and most importantly, Colorado sucks. And for my coldest take, I hope Zamir doesn't come back.

What can I say except my player Buck Nekkid is one hundred percent going to win Corner Back of the Year and hell maybe even Defensive Player of the Year. Buck Nekkid Is far behind in TPE compared to the other top Corner Backs in the game yet he still is top 3 in passes defended, top 3 in tackles and also has a pick to his name while being so low on tpe. It is only a matter of time before he catches up in TPE and with a level playing field the other Corner Backs stand no chance.

Let’s not forget that Buck Nekkid is also probably going to win best game of the year already for his Week 2 defensive performance. He had a massive 5 passes defended and also a game changing pick. He also got 3 tackles to go along with those stats. Now some people may say “well his tackles were way to low”. To that I say how is he supposed to tackle anyone when they can’t even get the ball in the first place. Once again he did this with low TPE so when his TPE grows who knows maybe he will even have a better game. There is so much room to grow that the sky is the limit. Even 10 passes defended isn’t a stretch, that is if the opposing Quarterbacks aren’t too afraid to throw my way now.

I'm going back to the classic well here and overreacting by saying the NSFC is the weaker conference once again. It feels like year in and year out, the NSFC has a couple top teams and the rest of the conference is just kind of there. Last year would for sure be an exception to this, but over the last year the ASFC is the more competitive side. I'm also ready to overreact regarding my team, the New Orleans Second Line. After a really underwhelming season when it felt like we should have been a playoff contender, we are currently tied at the top of the ASFC. There is little breathing room though, as the ever present Orange County and the red hot Austin Copperheads are also tied at 5-2. One game can change a team's fortune from hosting throughout the playoffs to going on the road the whole way. We all know the value of homefield advantage in this sim. I'll take a stab at one more overreaction and say that stupid San Jose will someone fricken win it all again despite looking like a bottom 6 team. Yep, they just beat us at home. Hell, they will probably travel to the Big Easy and beat us there too. I don't know how they keep doing it, but they will find a way to complete the most likely dynasty of all time.

Well here we are almost at the halfway point in Jeeeeroy Lenkins first season in the ISFL and things started off poorly for the rookie defensive captain of the Berlin Fire Salamanders. We started 0-5 through the first 5 games off the season, we were heavy favourites in at least 3 of those games. I feared the worse I wasn't making plays on defence our offence was lacklustre and we generally were underwhelming. What is the reason for our early season slump? Was it too many egos on the team? Was it an outdated coaching staff who appeared to be a cross between Jeff Fisher and Mike McCarthy? It definitely appeared this coaching staff was going to waste and ruin the abundance of talent it had at its disposal. However after week 7 this Berlin Fire Salamanders team made history by winning two games in a row for the first time in their young franchise history. Once again we were favourites in this game but we finally showed up. Most notably our quarterback Nick Colinkaeper decided to stop throwing interceptions to any defensive back with their hands out in front of them. The tale of the this Fire Salamanders team went from the worst in ISFL history to the best.

The first few week of the season have definitely exceeded my expectations for where I thought my team was at. I thought during the offseason that we were ate least a year of two from Iltimus contention. It looked like we were going to be building and improving for a while and before I know it our gm's have transformed the team into a high scoring offense with a lockout defense. We are beating good teams in away games and just destroying teams at home. I really didn't expect to be optimistic about playoff hopes since we were a middle of the pack team last year, but here we are six and one,best record in the league, and most of our hardest games are behind us. On a more personal note for me and my stats, I'm doing about as well as I thought, but not quite as good as I hoped. You don't get a ton of stats playing second fiddle to Acura Skyline, but I can see the improvements and the team is finding more ways to include me and help me help the team win games. I still hope to get at least ten rushing touchdowns this season as a personal goal,but if I make up for it in receiving touchdowns I suppose I'll take it.

My hot take is starting to cool off as we make our way towards the halfway point of the season. I've always believed that the Yellowknife Wraiths were set up for a lot of success this season after a few retooling seasons, and that they weren't getting nearly enough respect from the league - they were predicted by many to finish somewhere in the 3rd-5th range in their conference. Well, seven games into the year and it looks like the Wraiths are the real deal. Currently leading the league with a 6-1 record and boasting the top offense and defense in the league by yards per game (ditto for points on defense), they are firmly in the driver's seat moving forward. They've managed to achieve this record despite playing just two home games, and with only Colorado and Philadelphia remaining as conference road games. While there's always an opportunity for sim shenanigans to bring them back to the mean (let's face it, even the best teams probably shouldn't have pulled off the run YKW did in weeks 4-7), there is probably only one conference game and two games overall that they won't be favored in. There's a solid chance that they lock up the top overall seed in the playoffs as the ASFC continues to eat itself alive - stay tuned to find out whether this is take ages like milk or a fine wine.
