(Ready to be Graded X2 - New User)
Welcome all to dude_man’s reaction to the S27 DSFL Draft (Part 1)! If you would like to see my mock draft, please check it out here.
Let’s just jump right into it. First and foremost, what an exciting time for all of us, new and old users. The feeling of being drafted is a once in a player-time chance. For some, you didn’t have to wait in the “draft room” for very long. Yet for others, you felt like you got jipped. And let’s be real, you probably did on the latter. So without further ado, here is my reaction grades to the S27 DSFL Draft.
WR – Luke Quick
Okay, so I may have been wrong with my pick from my mock draft, and sure, I may have been a little biased with my picking my own player as the first overall draft. But if it were allowed, I wish my player was drafted on every pick. But it is what it is. Look, I’m just going to point out what everyone was thinking. REACH. We’ll see if he even pans out for the Coyotes. GRADE: D
QB – Ishe… Reallyinvisible
My bois got their franchise QB for his DSFL tenure. I think this pick will change the DSFL outlook and make an impact to where it will bring the 9th championship to the Luchadores. Only knock is that Cade Williams wasn’t drafted here. Grade: A-
OL – Anton Bruckner
NOW HOLD ON. Not only is the first OL drafted on the 3rd OVERALL PICK, but it ain’t even Cade Williams smh. Gragg’s mock of all mocks may have gotten him drafted earlier, and sure, maybe he’s a “cool guy” but we’ll know at the end of the day who the best OL is. And it’s not Anton. GRADE: F-----
WR – Chunt The Badger
So maybe all of the mocks didn’t get most of these picks right. That’s the beauty/mystery of the DSFL. You truly won’t know who is really going where. Chunt sounds like a decent prospect in theory, but we’ll see if he truly pans out for the Birddogs. Grade: D+
QB – Raeni Clark
The Seawolves select Clark here. It’s a loyalty pick, so I won’t ever judge a pick because of that. So much respect on the Seawolves part. The only thing I could say is that they could have drafted an OL. Just saying. Grade: C
DE – Glenn Smart
The Royals reached on the “other” DE of the class. It does fill a need that they need, and Pib is a cool user, I definitely do agree with their decision there. But we’ll see if them not drafting the other DE will haunt them. Not sure if it’ll be a “Smart” pick in the future. I’ll see my way out. Grade: C-
LB – Xavier Walls
The #1 prospect on the Pythons board. The defense is definitely a plus on their team, so we’ll see if BAP will work for them. Would have been better if they drafted, you know, an OL. But it’s whatever. We’ll see if Walls will bring them back to the Ultimini. Grade: D+
QB – Dexter Zaylren
Probably the worst showing for Dexter in Prospect Bowl history. But the Buccaneers needed a QB. So it makes sense, I guess. Grade: D
LB – Dexter Hall
Look, I ain’t going to fault anyone for drafting someone who’s a good locker room fit, but do you want a guy who also talks in other locker rooms? What if he reveals intel? I don’t know, seems fishy Coyotes. Grade: Potential Traitor
CB – Juno Hu
The Luchadores drafted Juno here. He’s got some sweet media out there (you should check it out for real), and he fills a “gaping” hole in the secondary. They’ll definitely need to fill some other holes like *cough* OL *cough* though. Grade: A-
DE – Andrew Warthol
I definitely had him higher on my mock draft, and I think this is a great value pick. He should be a great player for the Grey Ducks and is a solid new user. Grade: D+
WR – Bayley Cowabunga
I also had Bayley higher on my mock draft, and I think this was a fantastic pick, one that could change everything for the Birddogs. I can’t wait to see what he does in the future in the ISFL league. Grade: C-
S – Kelvin Harris
I’m not gonna lie, I don’t know who this is. And I’m sure this’ll fail for the Seawolves. Should be interesting. Grade: B+
DE – Manhattan Project
Project is a recreate for this draft. I also had him higher in my draft, but apparently, I don’t know anything about drafting or something of that nature. I think this is a solid pick for the Royals. We’ll see what he does. Grade: C
S – Remus Roman
The Pythons fill a need with this pick. They also have a need at OL, but we won’t have to get into that now. Sources state that he’s a good locker room fit, so we’ll have to see if he pans out. Grade: C-
DE – Mongo
The Bucs select Mongo with the 16th overall pick, and I think this is a fantastic pick with the value they got him in in the late second round. Dude is on a tear earning TPE and money and should be a force for seasons to come. Grade: D-
DT – Prof. Godfrey Gravity
If I did a second-round mock, he would have been my 9th pick. The line bois don’t get enough love, and Gravity is a no-brainer here. The Coyotes will definitely be reaping the benefits of this pick for a long time. Grade: C-
S – Romulus Roman
Look, I can keep saying that the Luchadores need OL. But I’m sure they’ll fill it soon. Right…? RIGHT? Anyways, filling what could be their last hole on the secondary, Roman should be a great pick for them. Keep killin’ it Tijuana! Grade: A-
LB – Brooks Bane
Grey Ducks fill a big hole here. Dude definitely has a sweet sig shop if you want to check it out. Should be a decent pick for the value he was drafted at. Grade: D+
QB – Erik Gaare
Poor guy, the Birddogs GM couldn’t even pronounce his name correctly. He should pan out okay though in the DSFL. With that said, I’m going to put that grade higher because of the butchering of it, feelsbadman. Grade: B-
RB – Archie Griffin
The first RB taken off the draft, the dude wants to be the best RB in the draft, so he should be a good pick. Should be a force for the Seawolves backfield. Grade: C-
CB – C.J. Sonjack
I honestly don’t know much about this pick, but he sounds decent. The Royals may have a steal with this one. Grade: D
LB – Gritt Gurdur
Gritt Gurdur, more like Gitt Gudur, amirite…? I’m terrible with this stuff. Pythons select him here with the 23rd overall pick. His main plus for him is that he’s willing to play whatever position for them, and that’s definitely a plus. Grade: D+
LB – Don Bradman
The Bucs select Don Bradman at the end of the 3rd round. I gotta tell you, I didn’t even know he was Australian. This has got to be the greatest pick in the draft not named Cade Williams. This dude will be a STUD in the DSFL. Grade: C
QB – Troy Abed
Coyotes start the 4th round with a QB named Troy Abed. Now, at this point, like man, when are you guys gonna draft an OL? Like sheesh, talk about an embarrassment of NOT riches. *crickets* Anyways, seems like a decent pick, we’ll see how it plays out. Also shoutout to the Coyotes for having the longest introduction for a 4th round pick lol. Grade: C-
S – Lux Opal
Just when you thought that the Luchadores didn’t need any more secondary, they went and picked another S. But this one should pan out for them and should be a great piece to get the 9th Ultimini. Grade: B+
S – Tim Soulja
Another S off the board, Tim should be a solid pick for the Grey Ducks. Also yes, definitely a great render for his character. Grade: C
S – Cole Maxwell
Okay dang, like 3 S back-to-back-to-back? Man, somebody put some safety blankets over these offenses for the DSFL… So yeah, we’ll see if it pans out for the Birddogs. I don’t know much about the pick other than that. Grade: C-
CB – Amy Wong
Seawolves picked an… Intergalatic player? Should be interesting. Almost like it should be illegal or something. Grade: Star (Wo)Man
QB – Red Arrow Jr.
So like I think Red Arrow Sr. won the Ultimus several seasons ago? Maybe the Royals strike lightning here with drafting his son. Or maybe they’ll regret not drafting an OL here, I don’t know. Grade: C-
OL – Stumpy Jones
Okay, Pythons, like I get it, you needed an OL. Cool, I respect that, but then you go and draft one that is like not as good as my boi Cade? That’s low man. I’ll remember this. (dude_man will remember this ((Telltale games vibes)) Grade: F+
S – Chathac-I’m not gonna finish this Smith IV
Another S taken off the board. The Bucs filled a need here, and it should pan out for them. Grade: D+
CB – Siege Cameron
The Coyotes select Cameron here with the start of the 5th Round. Sweet render by the way (Go Pack Go). We’ll see if he pans out for them, should be an interesting pick.
WR – Saleem Spence
I’m not gonna lie, this would have been a sweet pick had it been for StadiumGambler to change the name to Salem cause you know, Portland Pythons. But alas, we were robbed of that sweet opportunity. I hope that’s his nickname in the locker room though, lol. As far as a pick is concerned, I don’t know much about him. I’d say it’s a decent pick. Grade: C
DT – Daniel O’Leary
The Grey Ducks select the DT out of Monfort University with this pick. Mango is regarded as well liked user, so that should bode well for them. As far as a player is concerned, we shall see. Grade: B+
DT – Beefcake Johnson
Now here’s a guy, that has an amazing name for his player, and what a steal of a position he was drafted in. Like jeez, this guy should have been drafted #2 just for the name alone, and with a sweet render like that, most definitely needed to be higher than this. It fills a need for the Birddogs, so yeah, great pick here. Grade: C
WR – Sam The Onion Man
The Seawolves select the WR here. A recreate and a knowledgeable person, he should be a solid pick for them here. Grade: D+
OL – Makoa Mahi’ai
Whoooo boi. Like, I’m just done. What point is there to keep getting my hopes up, only to get it thrown away at this point? What a blow to morale, and it’s cool and all that he also went to the University of Oregon, but like dude, this is just brutal to not pick my boi. It’ll be an instant regret Royals. Grade: A Royal L
TE – Phillip Weaver
Portland picks a TE here. Should be a good receiving combo for them with OBJ. Still need an OL though. Grade: Why does it matter at this point?
RB – Brandon Prince
600 messages in the rookie chat??? Holy moly guacamole! Prince should be a decent pick for the Bucs here. Or maybe like an OL, but whatever. I’m not salty or anything. Grade: Z-
RB – Busch Goose
REACH. Infinite was set to get drafted earlier in the draft, but it didn’t happen. But it’s a reach cause they got a sweet RB. Should have been the 69th pick in the draft, but whatever. Grade: LMNOP
OL – Cade Williams
I just got one thing to say… LET’S FREAKING GO. The Luchadores picked the BEST player in the draft, hands down, probably the greatest thing to happen to them in all of ISFL history. Cade has shown great promise so far in the DSFL draft process, and they got a STEAL in my boi Cade. The Luchadores will be looking to secure their 9th championship, and Cade will definitely help them out with that. Even though I think he should have been drafted with their first pick, what better way to get value in the 6th round. As one user put it, Top OL in the draft, and didn't even have to spend an early 1st lol. Their words, not mine. (But like it’s totally true). Grade: A FREAKING +++++++++
So like, what’s the point in keeping going? My boi got drafted, and life is feeling good. The Luchadores give me a chance to prove you all wrong or right, but definitely wrong, and everyone else will feel the effects for a long time for not drafting my boi.
With that being said, it’s only fair I keep going, and give an HONEST feeling from each pick here on out. You know, because the people only want the truth, and they want it in a kind, and loving manner. So that’s what we’ll do here. I’ll finish the round off, and you can read the rest of the reactions in Part 2!
TE – Bender Rodriguez
I’m not gonna lie, I don’t think anyone really knows who he was. But he’s earning TPE. Getting Ultimus done helps with that, so hopefully he pans out. Grade: C+
QB – Mark Higgins
Mark is a cool dude. Definitely a solid pick here. It kinda gets dicey with who to draft at this point in the game. But I think the Birddogs get some value here. Grade: C+
OL – Rudy Gray
Let’s be honest Seawolves, you probably wished Cade was still there, didn’t you? Well hah, that’s on you guys for not drafting him earlier. I think Rudy would have been a 3rd round pick in my mock, but given the fact that there was only 1 round, I think he’s an okay value for this pick. Grade: C
QB – Jacob Raske
Why draft a dude that doesn’t get along in the locker room smh. Jk, but he should be a great pick for this value, and should help the Grey Ducks in the future. Grade: B-
OL – Tay Heenie
So NOW you guys draft a 2nd OL? Okay then Pythons. Not much to say for Tay. I’m sure he’ll be a solid pick for them, and hopefully they enjoy not getting the best OL in the draft earlier. Grade: C-
CB – Henny Tingzpahcbol
Bro, these names are getting crazy trying to switch browsers to see how you spell it since there’s not a written list yet. Should be a decent pick, it’s a loyalty pick, which you can’t judge them for that. This should pan out well for the Bucs. Grade: B-
Well there you have it! Be sure to look out for part 2 in the coming weeks, although it won’t be as exciting as this one. Please reach out to me if there’s any questions, and please know that this was mostly a troll piece. MOSTLY.
