Re things to spend money on, why not add in cosmetic items that don't affect gameplay at all:
* Rent your team's endzone for a week, changing the image to whatever you want (subject to approval!)
* Sponsor a team's stadium name for a season
* Add a custom emoji to the official Discord for the duration of a season
* Get a custom role / colour in Discord / forum
* Buy special trophies for the forum (like that I Am Rich iphone app years ago)
* Buy a second Dotts pack per day for like 5 times the price

The salary cap as it is is debatably too high, imo. I've been of the opinion since it was raised to $85m that it has been too high, and to this day I think we would see a lot more parity in the league if it were left at $80m. Consider this season, where Arizona, Baltimore, and Sarasota are all at $0, and 5 teams have $3m or more left. Overall, there is roughly $25.67m in cap being unused between the 14 teams. Also, there are currently 22 T4 offensive line bots, which cost $7m each, a $2.5m difference over what is usually considered bare minimum in T3 bots ($4.5m/bot). That means that between extra money spent on T4 bots and unused salary cap, there is almost an entire team's salary cap in around $80m of free space. Add in the $8m spent on position switches and you have $3m over a team's entire salary cap.

Obviously not all of this is from certain teams, and some teams not only have a lot of T4 bots but also have position switch expenses and a lot of bonuses. My point here is that if the cap were lowered back to $80m, it would force teams to make some tough decisions and it would make higher TPE players more likely to switch teams. Do you want to go to the team that has all high-TPE players on the last season of their rookie deals making a huge Ultimus push, or do you want to go to the team with some big and small pieces that could give you the best stats, or do you want to stay with your own team?

Obviously the cap will never get lowered, and next season is probably the first where $85m will be justified. But personally, it's just been too much to encourage parity for quite some time now and allows teams to keep signing good players rather than having to pick and choose what positions they want to spend the most money at.

Well said Mr @Laser I think considering this is a minimum driven league having some pressure of the salary cap side makes for complex GM decisions

pretty sure "raise minimums" and "restructure contract rules to minimise current cap circumvention strategies" have been talking points for almost 2 years now.

make teams pay some kind of money for their senddowns and make it hurt to stash a shitload of players for free while they start ias at those positions in the isfl

and dont raise the cap

you're not SUPPOSED to have the money to sign every player you want

its the entire point of a salary cap

The problem is I’m not sure raising the cap actually means we get more rookies called up. In a lot of situations I think raising the cap actually just means teams will try to squeeze one more max contract onto their books in an attempt to win a championship.

You would think with Arizona having the 3rd highest cap space committed to next season, and having $0 this season I would be banging the drum for increased salary cap. The reason I'm not is because of these two sentences.
