*Offseason Blues

Brandon Prince has snuggled up in his apartment building in Wyoming. Another season of the ISFL has come and gone. Due to a black hole evaporating Week 16 from existence, his 116 yard 2 touchdown performance was erased and a 15 yard performance was put in its place. He wonders if he can ever reach the heights he had in his rookie year. Suddenly, an old friend arrives. There’s a knock on the door. Prince opens it to find former Bondi Beach GM NTG, now in ghost form because he’s dead or something idk. He whispers, “Bondi Beach isn’t safe… we must go back to Myrtle Beach.” After that blasphemous statement, NTG evaporates into thin air. Prince is stunned. He’s not entirely sure if he just dreamt this entire thing, so he called up his boy Trempale to see if he heard the news too. No response. Prince rushes outdoors in his Christmas sweater despite it canonically being like April and it’s 80 degrees. Prince knows exactly what to do. After buying his plane ticket to Australia, he arrives in due time, but is greeted with the spirit of Bondi past, NTG. NTG says faintly, “Well done young GM, you have followed my advice but there is still more work to be done”. And just as soon as he arrived, he left again. “This guy is a fuckin weirdo”, Prince exclaims, but he continues with his journey to get Bondi Beach back to Myrtle Beach. After paying a hefty relocation fee of $2, Prince successfully relocates to Myrtle Beach, but something seems off. As soon as they relocate they lose 14 straight and have a winless season. “What am I doing wrong?” Prince exclaims. A voice comes from behind him. “You probably should draft based off of talent and not off of player names”. Classic Uber, what a preposterous statement. Prince ignores him. Another offseason is upon us again. This time, Prince is confronted by the ghost of Bondi Present, Brondon Price (No relation). In fact, Prince and Price are polar opposites. Prince tells Prince an important lesson “One does not simply move to Myrtle Beach and expect results. The most important thing is that you build a good culture.” Prince, who respects Price greatly obliges to this. During the offseason, he holds arm wrestling competitions every Wednesday at the local bar. Surely this will do it. Another 0-14 season for Myrtle Beach. What is Prince doing wrong? Another offseason spent sleeping. 40 days into his slumber however, another knock comes from the door. It’s the ghost of Bondi Future, Trempale! Prince says, “wait you’re still alive right? We’re co-GMs?”. Trempale responds “Don’t worry about it, anyways my fellow ghosts appreciate your effort thus far, but now we must give you your hardest task to date. You must unban Zayn from the Myrtle Beach locker room.” Prince is taken aback by this. “No way! That would go against everything we stand for!” Trempale holds his ground however. “Zayn is a proven winner and he’s definitely not toxic and his name is pronounced exactly how it is spelled. If you want to win an Ultimini, you must bring him back.” Prince returns to Myrtle Beach. He unlocks the locker room and calls his ISFL gm. “So everyone has agreed that you must be brought back to save Myrtle Beach.” Zayn responds, “lol ok”. And so one day later, Zayn steps foot on Myrtle Beach. As soon as he enters the locker room, the rusted metal turns to stainless steel. The squeaky door turns silent. The CRT TV in the middle of the room for some reason is turned into a 60 inch flat screen. Zayn has solved all of Myrtle Beach’s problems. Prince asks, “Zayn, you may have fixed everything here, but will we actually win games?” He responds, “idk lol”. The very next season, the players have a new energy. They go undefeated, 14-0, and win the Ultimini. Prince is raised up by all of his players as the ghosts of Myrtle Beach smile down upon him. Prince goes back to Wyoming, one Ultimini richer. Happy offseason everybody!
