Hello all. After 12 seasons of running the updater department, it is coming time for me to step down from the position. I will be hiring a new head updater who will work with me closely over the last two weeks of the season and into S33 as I transfer the reins to them. This is an important league position and while I would like a current updater to take over there may also be qualified candidates outside of those already in the department. A brief overview of the duties of the position:
1. Coordinate with ISFL GMs to ensure that OL bots are properly input
2. Ensure that all updates are done by 3am EST each Saturday
3. Run the error tracker each Sunday morning
4. Each Monday before 9pm EST, go through the update sheet to ensure that there are no duplicates and no errors in the errors tab, and fix if there are
5. Be able to answer questions about updating from both updaters and members of the league at large
6. Oversee the calling of backup updaters and accurately reflect payment for these backups
7. Collect package preferences and accurately pay updaters
8. Be able to manage a staff of 30 users
9. Coordinate with ISFL simmers to ensure that traits removed by regression are properly removed in the sim
10. Coordinate with Head Office on various events that may occur
11. Various other minor/easier responsibilities
This is a position that a newer user would likely not be able to take. I will be looking for an experienced user, preferably with experience as an updater in either ISFL or another league, who is able to commit to the position.
I will leave applications open until November 26, 2021 and make my hire at that time.
