so would you give Isaiah the max then if you were ange?
Well with the possibility of Lebron walking (next year?) they could have ended up in a poor spot with Kevin not playing like in minnesota and Kyrie not knowing if he can be THE guy on a team. Also, because of this, they are kinda in a win now mode and they know their lineup with kyrie prob wont beat the warriors in a 7 game series, so might as well try something else.
I think it's a pretty even trade. I mean we don't know if the Nets will be bottom 5 this year, they have no reason to tank. We don't know how good Zubac will be either. I wouldn't sign IT to the max, but looking around the league who would?
Finally a thread I can get behind. I think the trade obviously makes sense for the Cavs as this is really their last year of contention. IT and Crowder > Kyrie for this season. The Celtics get an elite offensive point guard who's more along their timeline, as he'll be in his prime as Tatum, Brown and Smart are coming of age

Talking about smart, I wish Ainge did this deal for George/Butler and allowed Smart to grow into a top notch point guard. Because I think he really could.

There are still minutes at the shooting guard for him and I don't think Kyrie necessarily stunts his growth. As much as I dislike Smart being a secondary Wiz fan, he's definitely made strides even as a backup

There's talk of Jalen Brown starting at the two, but I feel like Smart and Kyrie would make a good back court. Kyrie also plays well off ball obviously so we'll see how they can do together.
