If we did a draft where the captains of the world teams picked players, that would avoid the issues you're worried about. And create a secondary event within the larger event.

That's better than my idea.

I was gonna create something else, like a side event that wasn't actually football. Bunch of mini-games and shit, really. Not too unlike the draft combine stuff, base it on player stats and boom! Some kind of charity thing the league holds maybe. I dunno. Might still do it for shits and giggles. Anyway, the logic there was that I was thinking a one-off game wouldn't hold interest for long enough between seasons -- and also makes little sense in-context -- but a "draft" and then a game would work nicely.

The rookie thing could just be to have prospect games again. We had those before, right? Those were cool.
