Back at Rutgers, I never had to worry about my academic schedule interfering with my athletic schedule. My professors, advisors, and coaches all knew that, as a student-athlete, I would be able to get a postponed (or early) exam if I had a game at the same time. I lost this privilege after going pro, and that has gotten me into one or two sticky situations.
The first was when my midterm in Weaving at Extreme Depths came at the same time as the first game of the DSFL preseason. Instead of having the time to practice for the game, I had to convince my professor to allow me to take the exam the night prior. I had to fly all the way back to Piscataway that morning, take the exam (which I barely passed), and then fly back to Kansas City. I arrived at the stadium with about 30 minutes until game time, and all the stress led to me missing two field goals from 40+.
This semester I made sure that my professors knew ahead of time that I was in the pros, and there shouldn't be any issues!
