It’s interesting that when I went to go write about draft busts, I thought I’d be clever and look at the most recent draft classes (ie. since I’ve been in the league at Season 5). But damn, NSFL teams, that is a solid group of guys. I tried hard to pick away at my draft in particular, thinking that I’d find a pick at least before myself at number 12 that I would be able to point to and go “oh, see? That is one that I would’ve been better suited for.” The hypocrisy aside of my inactivity at that time, it would’ve felt nice to find a not that active player in the first 11 picks of the Season 5 draft. But no such luck – although arguments could be made about the order of the picks and the implied evaluation and value associated, there’s no glaring hole in that last. Some of the guys I know better than others, but all of them are active contributors. So this PT task shifted from being about the draft bust to a revelation of the strength of the Season 5 draft class – I went 12 picks in and I like to think, quite humbly, that I was a steal (what with being a DSFL GM, $$ in the bank kinda guy). Instead, I came away with a new appreciation for my fellow Season 5 draft cohorts. Nice work guys.
