I do regular workouts and conditioning, of course, but one thing that I love to add in, after any workout, is a burnout set. A burnout set is essentially lining up numerous smaller plates on a barbell and doing repeated sets, taking one plate off for each set, until you've reached the bar, and then going all the way back up to where you started. This is an excellent finisher for a workout, as the lighter weights more effectively create the micro fractures in the muscle that initiate the kreb cycle, especially after already having hit the muscle group hard during the original workout.
For bench, this normally amounts to five different ten pound plates on each side of the bar, and working down and up from there in sets of ten. I like to apply this to curls, bench press, squat, and even push press in order to maximize my gains from each lift.
