Something that may be skewing some of your numbers depending on the dataset you used is all of the players that end the season with less than 75ish fantasy points and have no chance of getting picked except for the memes. I noticed a disproportionate number of those players are wide receivers which would inflate the overall WR standard deviation even though they really aren't relevant in the decision-making process. Meanwhile there are only 8 QBs, Ks, and Defenses so pretty much all of them will show up in multiple leagues.
Yeah, that's absolutely right. Plenty of players had no place on serious fantasy teams. I just don't know how to manipulate the data right for that kind of thing. I'm sure I would if I gave if it some time, but this is probably the best I can do right now.
On the other hand though, there will always be those meme picks. So who knows.
