D.J. Riddick loves balls, he always has. Any balls, all size, any shape, any color, any pattern, if it's a ball, he loved it! When he was a young tot, he lived overseas in the UK with his military father, where he first played futbol (or soccer for you yanks). After moving back to the states, he played junior football and basketball throughout his youth. In high school, it was football in the fall, basketball in the winter and tennis in the spring (helped him develop his quick feet). After ultimately deciding to go to college for football and not basketball, he still made time for tennis, racquetball, volleyball, and even golf. He always found that this balance of physical activity helped him develop his body, speed and agility in ways he couldn't do with just football alone. He has played in several charity golf tournaments over the year, placing second in one and third in another. He entered a prestigious tennis tournament the spring before being drafted by the San Antonio Marshals where he competed against some of the best players in the world, he came in 21st place. Did we mention ping pong? He is a grandmaster and did several national tours during his time at USC. If you know nothing else about D.J. you should definitely know that he loves balls!
